You are a fool if you don't think Stafford could get it done with this team around him. A complete and utter fool.

I assume we'll finally draft a guy next year. We can develop him, and when Romo does retire, we sign a stopgap if the young'n needs more development.

Is this some type of sick joke?

Maybe if we were talking about the Stafford of 2-3 years ago, but now the dude can't even complete a pass to a 6'5 freak of a receiver.

You picked the wrong week to be 100% wrong.

CJohnson had 6 catches for 166 yards and Stafford was 27/42 for 405 yards and 4 TDs.

I have watched Stafford for years and he is definitely NOT good enough. He cannot make plays like you need when it matters. His QBR in the 4th quarter- take a good hard look at that.

Good enough to win a championship with Jones as the GM and Garrett as the coach? I completely agree. It would be hard pressed for Brady to do that.

slobbering over him?
he's a much better option than 90% of possible options out there. I'm not sure that's debatable. he's a talented QB who's never really had much around him. He's still young. I'd much rather go for him than draft a QB and hope they turn out to be even decent (which, chances are, they won't be even serviceable - that's statistics).

call it what you want, but the fact that "no one else" at cowboyszone agrees too much with me is probably a good thing - many of these people wanted to see Kellen Moore, and blamed Garrett for losses when our best players were out. In other words, they aren't the brightest bulbs, for the most part.

For the record, do you prefer drafting multiple QBs until we find one? What are the chances we find a good QB with a first round pick the first time?

No one is blaming Garrett. Many of us are just pointing out how useless he is. Without the talent, or specifically Romo, that 12-4 season is toast and so is Garrett or any accolades he may have received because of it.

If Garrett had any skills at all, he would have been able to pull out 1 win in the last 3 games somehow. If he cant take some risks and coach his way to a win in the last 4 games, then he will be what many think he is. A fanny patting, pom pom waving ivy league pen pusher.

First time? Not good. Thats why you never let a good QB pass you by. Keep taking them.

Since the 1980-81 season, there have been a total of 34 Super Bowls played, elite QB's have won 21 of them...
These are the QB's drafted since Joe Montana that would be considered in the same class as Romo... (The number represents how many Super Bowls they won)
Montana 4
Moon
Marino
Elway 2
Kelly
Aikman 3
Favre 1
P. Manning 1
Brady 4
Warner 1
Brees 1
Rivers
Roethlisberger 2
Rodgers 1
Ryan
Wilson 1
Luck (maybe?)

Yes, lesser QB's have won their share...
Jim Plunkett 2
Joe Theismann 1
Jim McMahon 1
Phil Simms 1
Jeff Hostetler 1
Doug Williams 1
Mark Rypien 1
Trent Dilfer 1
Brad Johnson 1
Eli Manning 2
Joe Flacco 1

So it's definitely possible to win without an elite QB, but the odds are at least 2/1 every year in favor of the teams with elite QB's... We see that it's possible to sneak up and win one title on the back of a great defense, but if you want to win two or more Super Bowls in a decade, then it becomes almost mandatory that you have an elite QB...

When you have a QB as elite as Tony Romo, you don't need to start worrying about what will happen 3 years from now... You already have that elusive HOF caliber QB, and your team is already pretty decent overall, NOW is the time to win, now is the time to go for broke... The majority of QB's who are as good as Romo win championships, and he's so due for some playoff success, I don't see any reason why we shouldn't expect that Romo will finish his career like John Elway...

Romo will still be starting at QB for Dallas in the 2018 season... Finally winning the Super Bowl will keep him coming back... When Romo finally does hang it up, if you haven't found an elite QB to step in, then it's time to use high draft picks to improve your chances of finding one...

I wouldn't put Wilson in the "elite" category.

I understand why some might, but I consider "elite" to be a QB that can carry an offense with his arm and I do not see Wilson being able to do that.
