Got a feeling we will trade up in the Draft

My last post of the night and it's just a gut feeling I've had since we made the trade for RW.

I gotta believe that Jerry will want to make some noise on draft day and move up in the draft. There are a number of ways he could do this but I think moving a combination of players and picks to get us into the first round is what he will do.

Jerry is not one to sit by and let the first day of the draft go by and our name only being called once. Not sure what he will do with it but I feel pretty sure something will happen.

Hoping for a big NT or stud LT.

how without a #1 ? Some team would either have to take a player (not many that anybody might want that would actually bring a return except maybe Spencer) or a future #1 (slippery slope).

You are more than welcome to our #13 pick. We need to trade down and draft a slew of linemen.

2 reasons why we WILL trade up...

1. Like you said, there is no way Jerry sits there quietly with only 1 pick and takes someone at #54.

2. We need quality, not quantity. As much as we'd all like to blow this whole heartless bunch of primadonnas up, we all know the talent is there. We are a few players and an attitude adjustment away from making a Superbowl run. Plus, we will have around 10 picks and we don't even have 10 roster spots.

If some big name player starts slipping and falls out of the first round, expect us to trade up. A guy who we could make a move for is Kam Chancellor from Virginia Tech, assuming he declares. He is big (6-4, 224), good speed (4.5) and makes plays. His sophomore year was better than his junior year but I still like him. The only reason I think he could slip out of the 1st is because he is the 3rd best safety prospect behind Taylor Mays of USC and William Moore of Missouri.

Nah. Let's just stay pat. The problems this team has won't be easily corrected with draft picks.

Our GM will stay pat and draft an OL that will contribute by letting blitzers blow right past him.

Is Cory Proctor re-entering the draft?

I don't know how. Its almost impossible without a 1st rounder unless we trade next years 1st rounder and our #2 to a team who doesn't want to spend the money of a early 1st round pick. I don't see it. I don't really care either. This team has shown that you can draft well without a 1st rounder. They've actually done better drafting guys in every round but the 1st round which is odd but good. That's why I had no complaints about the Roy trade. Yea you hate to lose the #1 but you could afford to.

If we are trading up it has to be Rey Malaluga. That Ravens game never happens with Rey in the middle.

Well, Jerry could use the 2010 #1 pick as a part of a package.

I'd hate to lose our 2010 1st round pick and I think thats just a stupid philosophy.

Great win against the Eagles. Man, we got drilled. That really hurt.

You guys have great cover personnel. You need pass rush from your ends. You have a real good linebacker from Miami. A DT would help you. Although, those guys are scrappy. They will fight you. Griffin is good, imo.

Man, the offensive line didn't do Campbell any favors in the second half. It looked like Zorn could have moved him around more to get him off point "x".

Cambell can do it. That guy has been through six offensive coordinators. That is tough.

We don't need to trade up.

We don't "Need" a starter. We need Jerry Jones to stay out of the coache's business and we need a HC with some cojones.

Yep.

Adding some "name" players to the mix might be the sort of deodorant Jerry chooses to apply to this team's smelly mess. And while things might smell rosy at first, causing some to choose to believe (hope?), "Not even Wade can screw up THIS team," the reality will remain that the deodorant will eventually wear off, exposing the team's smelly underbelly.
