Got back from Rutgers Pro Day yesterday...

20 teams were there from the NFL, NOT including the Cowboys. I only mention this because many of us were hoping Dallas would target Ray Rice. When Rice did RB individual drills, coaches from the 49ers and Packers were running the show. I guess it's safe to say we can throw Ray Rice out of the running to backup Barber. Rice did look very good running and catching the ball, as well as posting a 39.5" vertical. With that being said, the Cowboys will most likely draft Jamaal Charles from Texas.

Well all I know is there were 30 scouts there from 20 NFL teams and the Cowboys weren't one of them. That has to tell you something.

Not really. It could be telling us they already know all they need to know about the guy...that they need to concentrate on scouting players they are more unsure of.

Ray Rice is a very good football player. To say that the Cowboys staff has no interest in scouting him is folly to an absurd level.

Tells me that they have all of the info and tape they would want on him, since a former Cowboy coach is his OC.

Just because they aren't at the Pro Day does not mean a thing. Just because they invite someone to the Ranch does not mean they intend to draft him.

I was also talking to one of the Strength coaches on the sideline and he said it wasn't a good sign that no NFL running back coaches were in attendance as well. Rice is an under the radar kind of player and I think will end up being a steal for some team.

I'm not sure that a strength coach from Rutgers is really going to know who's who in this type of situation. I'd think a meet and greet would be at the bottom of my list of priorities if I'm trying to scout a thousand players around the country...

Rice is an under the radar kind of player and I think will end up being a steal for some team.

If he lasts past the 40th pick this year, he'd be a steal IMO.
