Gotta Say I Appreciated Irvin's Comeback At Tom Jackson Last Night...

...at halftime they were once again dissecting the Eagles and Cowboys and Tom Jackson was pouring out the praise for the Eagles and McNabb in particular. He then came to the Cowboys and in a tone of voice that made me wonder if someone on our team died, he said there were big problems with T.O. and the Cowboys and he said, "I don't know where T.O. and the Cowboys go from here, I just don't know!"

After that they went to Irvin, who I expected to blow up, but Irvin just looked at Jackson and calmy said, "I know what T.O. and the Cowboys do. How about just playing out the season? That's what they do, they just play the next game."

The point was made of how ridiculous Jackson's overdramatization was of the whole situation in the 4th week of the season.

Good job, Mike.

Things are never as doom and gloom as they seem. Nor are they ever as promising as they seem.

If Bledsoe completes that last pass for a touchdown, the game goes into overtime and the reaction is different (although there should be the same concerns).

The season is 16 games long. We have the players to be a contender. They just need to play up to their potential.

The big namers in the media continually make themselves look stupid by blowing this stuff up...

Where do we go from here? Are you kidding?

Does he follow football? Seriously...

I usually, or use to like Tom Jackson. But the last few years or so. And especially this year. And all his TO / Cowboys bashing. I can not stand him any more. He went from good football talk to sensationalist talker.

I agree. I think it's a result of all the cable 24 hour sports coverage in this day and age where every single isolated event is dissected, discussed, analyzed and over-hyped to the point of exhaustion. It's really pathetic.

Unfortunately, I think alot of people are going to view them as being spot on if the Cowboys are not successful.

But really... really?

Anybody who takes that idiotic and ridiculous statement to heart is buying into the ESPN media machine which spouts ******** vitrol in the name of consumerism and viewership.

Stuff like that makes me see crooked. I'd be friggin outraged if I was Michael in that booth listening to that. IT'S WEEK FIVE FOR THE LOVE OF ZEUS' BEARD.

Good job, Mike.

Dag, I hate I missed that. But, I visualized that in my mind about how Mike would handle it on Monday night. I knew he would take it hard. I hoped he would contain his emotions, but the pregrame proved other wise. Glad to here he flipped the script at half time.

I too think TO was way out of line last year ... but the more they pile on him this year, the more I inch over to his side. It's just become ridiculous.

That is just what I believe.

That is why people are so willing to believe Terrell Owens destroyed the Eagles, because they sucked last year. The media will say that and people will believe it because the Eagles sucked last.

People wont take into account all the key injuries they had. They will just remember what the Media said, "T.O. will destroy the Eagles", and lo and behold, look what happened.

Im not saying that T.O. destroyed Eagles, im saying that is what people are going when things went horribly wrong.

Another way of looking at it is, the absolutely best way to prove some of these guys in the media wrong is to win and go deep into the playoffs. What the hell could they say then?

It wouldnt matter....because we had a successful season. But if we dont make the Playoffs..I think alot of people are going to be pointing figures and Terrell Owens makes a good scapegoat.

That's what's gonna make it doubly worse than us having a bad season ... Philly having a good one. I won't be able to look or listen to any football at all without getting McNabb pushed down my throat.

Didn't the Seahawks have a terrible start and ended up in the Superbowl..... What in the heck is wrong with these people and their hate for the Cowboys and blinders for all other teams.

I could not stop yelling at the TV when that was on.

I want to apologize to everyone first, for what I am about to say, but after being in Iraq anyone who believes the media, on certain things without doing research for themselves is , well I feel sorry for them.

They love to report negative stuff, and to twist things around. They are out of control and very opinionated reports, they no longer give just facts, now they twist the facts for more dramatization or something.

The sports reporters are the worse ones, they are idiots, especially the big name reporters.

Do I think the media is blowing TO out of proportion again? YES!

But am I 100% certain that TO will handle the current difficulties productively?

You couldn't help but see (because FOX was glued to him) all the sideline activity with TO and I hate how the media seemingly everywhere has just assumed the worst because he didn't sit there smiling with his hands folded.

But by the same token given TO's past (yes he made some significant mistakes in Philly) I think one would be foolish to not be a bit worried about how TO will react if the QB/OL struggles continue.

Like the old saying goes, "All you have is your name and your reputation".

That is all most have to go on with T.O.

But hell the man wanted to win Sunday. I dont think he cries and whines to Todd Haley if he doesnt have any catches but the team is winning.

Anybody else think he would have?

Yes, I do. Because it's ALL ABOUT OWENS.

At least, that's what the media tells me.

The best was Stuart Scott saying the Eagles "jacked up" the Cowboys on MNF. Let's see, they outgained us by 63 yards, but we also had a 57 yard pass interference call. We were up by halftime, and were down by 7 points with 30 second to go on the Philly 6 yard line. Yep, they really just smoked the Cowboys didn't they.

Thank you for serving, and thank you for saying what I have been saying for a while now.

It means more coming from someone with your experience.
