A savvy front office doesn't leak to the media that Cooper is a likely cap casualty in January, so when it's time to explore a trade in March you are more likely to fetch a reasonable draft pick. But savvy and Jerry/Stephen don't mix....

We are the ones who leaked that he would be cut and then tried to trade him..can't reward the team for getting something when they made the stupid mistake in handling it in the first place.

The move does nothing to improve our roster. Cap relief is little comfort as it is needed desperately for other mistakes this FO has made— and with the same leaders making decisions— more mistakes are bound to occur.

2022 was already looking grim with a “status quo” “continuity” “run it back again” “we’re so close!” PR campaign… and yet they have managed to squeeze the last drops of hope or promise out of the season before FA even begins.

We don't yet know what they will do with 54 mil in cap space over 3 years

Cowboys - 5th, 6th round pick swap (9 spots higher), 16 million in cap relief

A big caveat is if he is willing to renegotiate his deal with Cleveland. If he isnt, its a C. Yes we get cap space, but at the cost of a very good player. If he is, its an outright fleecing

F for sure. Amari is worth more than a 5th. We'll waste that pick in a trade down to get like 6ths or something ridiculous

No question his TALENT alone is worth more but this wasn't about just his talent. March 20 deadline AND his salary had a huge impact. In other words, we got SOMETHING for a player going to be released by the 20 anyway.
