I never said that injuries only effected the DEs last season. I said that the injuries wiped out that unit. I never implied that injuries were only limited to the DEs.

This "all in" concept is foolhardy when it involves sacrificing future opportunity to focus exclusively on a single season. There are too many variables that control the outcome of a season.

If an "all in" team fails to reach their goal then, not only have they been unsuccessful that particular season, they have also managed to decrease the probability of success in their future seasons.

Typically, the goal is to assemble a team that is capable of competing for championships over an extended number of seasons. That way, if bad luck, injuries, or any series of unfortunate events derail them in one particular season, they still have potential for other seasons.

I don't have a lot of respect for a team that wins a Super Bowl and then can't win half their games the next season. In that case, fans can only enjoy the championship for a couple of months before the bill comes in. Besides, that is not the Cowboy way.

In my experience, half of the fun for winning a championship is the way in which they defend their title the following season.

The Cowboys have gone to 8 Super Bowls.

On two of those occasions they returned to the Super Bowl the following season. On five of those occasion they returned to the conference championship game the following season. On all eight occasions, they retuned to the playoffs the following season.

That is how to build a team.
It wiped out three units, I think maybe you're under selling how bad the injuries have been in the last two years It's been insane it's unreal it's hard to overcome...

i'm not making excuses for Matt ,I doubt he keeps his job, but at least going forward, let's see if he does what Zimmer did last year zimmer got some of his guys back and at least turned a corner on pressure and turnovers, so we could use that our offense could use some relief..

I mean the mental toll it's taking on our offense is starting to show.

They have no confidence going into games, and they're playing tight ,and they're playing to not lose, and that is not what this offense was designed to do supposed to be open, But you can see when the defense is that bad it starts to affect the offense.....

UMM this has happened two years in a row, so much for the planning on it just in case it happens, 1 season, no ,it's happened in back to back seasons, hell add in 2020, We're talking about having Prescott's career derailed by constant injuries to the defense and we're talking about massive lists of injuries on all three levels of the defense, not talking about 1 cover up for one group, it's been the whole defense, just getting decimated it's a battle of attrition...

I'm not even sure now that Mike Nolan should have lost his job, but I guess Dan Quinn had the luckier three seasons because we had a lot less injuries but 2020, 2024, and now 2025 insane amount of injuries, it is kind of hard to cover up three years of attrition on defense when you also keep changing DCs with schemes, regardless of all i

so I don't want to hear about how they could have done this or that Yes it would be nice for them to do that and this year so far has been their most active year from top to bottom, like to start from February until right up to the trade deadline, this is the best I've seen them stay active...

So maybe some of this bleeds over or maybe it was a onetime deal, but yes hopefully this offseason they continue..

although we're going to be short a lot of draft picks, and not going to have as much money to spend in free agency ,given what we've already done this year, they're going to have to do a whole lot of crazy cap things, which one of them might be allowing George Pickens to find a new team IE first tender or second tender on the franchise tag, and get what you can ,so you can actually have a better draft better to go $30 million and spend it on the defense ,take that draft pick and get another wide receiver in the draft...

I know people don't want to hear that but George Pickens probably wants to leave anyway He might be the only piece that we can get a draft pick back for because with him. I don't think he's affected the offense that much I mean we're continually losing and the offense is not as dynamic as it could be I think maybe they have Lamb and now they have to figure out how to feed Pickens and I think it's catching this team in a conundrum on how to keep two receivers happy...

I prefer a better defense like last night's game both those teams were playing great defense And by the way I think the Packers could use George Pickens imagine that we'd get another first rounder for them for next year so they can add to taking Parsons away which by the way they lost two games in a row and I have not seen an impact play in two games from Parsons he's been practically a ghost...

I'm going with an A......simply on Quinnen Williams play alone. He makes plays. Alongside Kenny Clark should rid us of tractor-trailer holes up the middle.

D from me.

Nothing against the player, but I disagree with sending a 1st and 2nd rounder for another defensive tackle.

It’s more about the moves they’ve already made in paying Osa (mistake) and already getting Kenny Clark.

What do they do going forward?

Go from investing nothing in the position to investing way too much?

Jerry is now basing everything on the next couple of years. This is it for him, and apparently he knows it.

This right after trading away one of the league’s best pass rushers.

And if he’s actually sticking with Eberflus, that undermines any hope of winning soon.

I gave it an A-. We did give up a lot for him. I wish we had had our 3rd rd pick to offer instead of our 2nd. I feel like that probably would have gotten it done.

But I think QW is a great interior DT, one of the very best in the NFL. And adding him should instantly change our defensive front into a much more capable unit. Clark, Osa and Thomas are now seated much better on the depth chart. That rotation could be really, really good.

But, it remains to be seen if that's enough (even with the addition of Wilson at MLB) to alter the trajectory of this defense as a whole. Our secondary is a total mess, our LB's can't read or cover (enter Wilson and DMO) and we have a terrible pass rush. Will this added strength in the middle of the D be able to turn all 3 of those units around? I have high hopes that things are about to get a lot better, but that's a tall task to get all 3.

The pass rush was already improving a little and now, with a solid and disruptive center, it should get even better.
With Wilson and DMO hitting the field our LB rotation is also much deeper and now, should stay "cleaner", so it could be good as well.
Getting Revel on the field and some more pass rush should help the back end. But will the rest of the secondary be able to get healthy enough and finally pick up the system enough turn it around in time? That's the biggest question mark I have.
Isn't funny how the team strength over the past few years is now the weakest link?
I think they could have got him for a first, fourth and Mazi if they had held on and took it down to the wire

Love the player but hate the trade. We have too many holes in this roster to part with that much draft capitol AND the huge contract he is due.

There was no point adding Q mid-season. We are not in contention. We should have looked at doing this in February or March. Maybe he becomes disgruntled and asks for a trade..... then the price comes down.

Micah breaks down easier than Williams. Lets see if Micah plays 16/17 games this season and next. GB has no 1st's the next 2 drafts. unless FA how do they get a bonafide starter to improve the next 2 seasons as other teams will? Let's see how GB looks after playing Philly this weekend. Bet they're sore after that one.
I re-inforce this post after last nights game.
