Oh so Weeden is actually a quality QB but the play calling and talent around him is why he appears to suck?

Let's just ignore the fact that teams are game planning to take away our run and just daring Weeden to beat them and he can't. Defenses are giving him the best opportunity to succeed and he can't.

Physically Weeden is fine. Mentally he doesn't have what it takes.

Weeden had time. He refuses to make any read past 2 recievers.

Possibly. It is also possible that his wideouts can't get open. Terrance Williams has been destroyed in press coverage for 2 games running. I have another thread ready to go for him, but I can't make a new thread at this point. He took a few sacks like Romo did, where no one can beat their man 1 on 1.

I'm ready to be done with Weeden, but I'm not going to get excited about a guy who couldn't stick as a backup with the Vikings or the Bills.

Yeah, that's what I am saying. Cassel is a bum. So is Weeden. Expecting much more from Cassel is a pipe dream.

Nope. They both stink and if you think Cassel will be a major improvement you are fooling your self. This team has nobody that scares a defense right now and the play calling is awful. Cassel wont even move the needle.

I noticed this last week, and then again at the end of the last drive today: when we get inside the red zone, Weeden starts throwing like he thinks his receivers are 10 feet tall. :banghead:

There is some of that too.

But Weeden never looks comfortable back there.

I think the game is too fast for him at this level.

Sometimes his arm will bail him out, but his brain seems to process things more slowly.

Cassel will check down a lot too, but he's going to look a lot more in control.

Here we go again, that's all you fall back on over and over. Our wr's can't get open. Doesn't matter if they are open, Weeden OVERTHROWS. And WILL NOT look at any receiver option past the 1st 2.

He's not capable mentally of thinking that quickly out there.

Not a knock against him, it's just how it is.

Weeden is what Weeden has always been. He didn't wake up the last couple of weeks and regress. He was a loser with the Browns and he's doing nothing differently here than he's always done.

My issue is that Weeden's shortcomings should have been apparent in the off-season and camp, not to mention last year's off-season and camp. Weeden never had "it" to lose. This coaching staff and talent evaluators failed miserably at the most important position on the team, That is very concerning to me looking long term.

Bryant will command double teams and open it up for everyone else. Cassell gives you a fresh start and a glimmer of hope.

Yeah, that's why I don't believe they'll switch.:(

yea honey I don't believe we will see a change either. They are 0-3 with him right? They know he has some horrible won-loss record & they still have Jason saying he would not make a change in the second half I read. I seriously cannot believe they can't see he's a FAIL!

Looking in control and being in control are 2 different things. Matt Cassel was on #3 and on the scrap heap, behind career backup Tyrod Taylor and epic bust EJ Manuel for a reason. He just can't play. He may be slightly better than Cassel, but I would give him 9 points instead of 6 in this game. Maybe a slight improvement, but garbage, no the less. Romo is the reason this team is even a winning team.

At this point the rest of the team will respond better to Cassel being back there.

We needed to win one of these 3 games. The lack of urgency is what is so troubling. Our season may be over before Romo gets back.
