What do you do when the other team has 2 huge DT's that you can't run on... you pass 32 times in the first half and make them rush the passer for 30 minutes. wearing them out led to MB3 rolling late in the game. i would like to have seen more points obviously but i thought the plan was solid.

The plan to tire out Kevin Williams was pure genius. That fumble return that got called back is what wore him out.

I wonder though if Garrett's play calling in the 2cnd half was more of a precaution against Romo possible being injured...who knows.

Exactly.

Williams is a true stud, but geez, it's kind of embarrassing that that one run took him out of the game for so long.

not to mention, they ran the no huddle the whole first half.

Throwing quick passes with the no huddle and changing plays at the line was a great idea and romo carried it out very well.

I'm inclined to think it was a little of both. Romo's injury certainly forced Garrett to take every precaution to prevent further injury to Romo. Best way to do that of course is finally establish our running game in the 2nd half. Wouldn't be surprised if the approximately 30 passes Romo through in the was desired to tire Vikes DL out so Romo's injury and running game dovetailed perfectly together.

What a mastermind... Drive from our backfield all the way to their endzone, then make Romo fumble it or turn it over to the biggest guy on their team and then let him run all the way down the field. Do it again and again until they become sucks. Brilliant.

I found it ironic that Troy kept calling him a tremendous athlete as he was on the sideline, looking like he was about to drop dead.:D

As for the play calling, I really don't understand starting every series with a pass, until you're absolutely backed up, then handing the ball off 3-5 yards deep in the endzone. What is that?

I guess the game plan worked well today, but I hate the idea of throwing 32 times in a half...

Wow, Garrett is an evil genius. He told Romo to fumble so that Williams could recover it and waste all his energy running it to the endzone.

He had planned for Barber to make Williams fumble right at the goal line, but he also had a backup knowing that there would be a holding penalty in case we didnt force the fumble.
