There are at least rumors about most of these guys doing something or another including Lemond. It has been a part of the sport forever.

I went to HS with a guy who was on the training team for Lemond team PDM. I can tell you that from what he said to me on multiple occasions, there were lots of things going on, even then , that would be considered illegal in today's world. I don't honestly know if they were illegal then, that's been 25-27 years back, but you are right. This is not new in the world of cycling. This kind of thing has been going on in professional cycling since they went to the round wheel.

They all were.

I dont remember the exact number...but something like 5 of the guys who finished second to Lance had all tested positive at one point or another.
