Green Bay won the trade

The Packers have 4 super bowl wins in their entire history with 2 of them in the 1960's. Jerry Jones has 3 by himself.
Jerry Jones doesn’t have ****. He’s won nothing. He sucked on the teat of a head coach who was capable. When that head coach garnered too much credit he sent him packing. The Dallas Cowboys have never been, not for one second of their existence, on par with the Packers organization. In the salary cap era, which Jerry Jones helped usher in, the Cowboys are a joke compared to the Packers.

We’ve all watched the Patriots, and the Chiefs, and for god’s sake the Eagles, figure out how to run an NFL franchise while Jerry impregnated a flight attendant and sucks down scotch. Jerry Jones does nothing by himself including change his diaper. Go buy another Cowboys logo key chain.

There are people here who said Clark for Parsons straight up would have been a fair deal.
The only thing I can figure is they sweetened the deal for Jerry with Clark, because I don't know why you would trade him to a team that is obviously going to win big this year, and while in a different division, has been our rival for a while in the Playoffs. I read there were tons of teams inquiring, couldn't find a team that got that draft pick to a top ten pick at least?

Was going over our draft history, and really the only impact players we've drafted since 2000 in late 1st round (20th pick and after) or second round were Dez, TFred, Tank and most recently Tyler Smith. Odds are not good on this one. Fast forward three years and see what these picks turned into and I doubt anyone will be chest thumping about the trade.

I personally hope the packers win the Super Bowl just so people can sarcastically tell Jerry Jones “good job” with this trade. You sure showed Micah who’s boss.

OTOH, our season is over, and we have couple of late 1sts where we're likely to get 2nd round graded players, and a DT they probably won't even re-sign.
The Cowboys season was over even if they had kept Parsons. But the result of trading him is the Cowboys have a chance to be better now. It's not just getting Clark (who will get an extension) and the draft picks, it's the salary cap space they can use for multiple players and extending their own.

A couple months ago sure, but what salary cap space do they still have? Between Clark and Q the cap savings are pretty much gone already, no?

Several contracts will have to be reworked if we want even a ghost of a chance at contention. Like 5-7 contracts.

Need to open a 2-3 year window, which means acquiring 2 LBs and a FS, plus other positions. Desperately need salary cap room.

Agreed and I imagine they'll do that this offseason, but you can do that with Micah just as easily as you could with Q and Clark on the roster. Of all the valid arguments for trading Micah the cap space issue just doesn't make sense to me....especially since weve added multiple players at DT that add up to Micah's current AAV already.

Ridiculous for anyone to think they know who “won” the trade. With Clark and QWilliams, we have stopped the run against very good running teams for the first time in years. I’ll take that any day vs an edge rusher. Plus, we still have another 1st round pick to use this year from GB. It will be at least 2 years before we know who won the trade.

My guess is GB will be happy with what they gave up in the short term of the next 3-4 years, and I believe Dallas will be happy with their end of the deal if they find another consistent starter on defense.

Does anyone think our record would be better with Parsons? Our DTs would be Osa, JT, Mazi, and Winfrey. Picture that with these LBs. And, that’s what we would be going into the offseason with at DT. Knowing that rookie DTs are notorious for slow development, we’d be watching the same garbage defense that cannot stop the run for at least a couple more years, while paying Parsons ridiculous money. When teams run the ball down our throats, his pass rushing skills are negated.

Parsons is a great, generational pass rusher who would be wasted in Dallas. At least now we can control any team’s run game and make them more 1- dimensional. Get some help in the secondary and improve our LB play, and we will have a competitive defense. Parsons with Clark and Williams would have made a huge difference, but Parsons with what we already had would have resulted in what we saw the previous years, a team that beats up on most garbage teams but gets eaten alive by the good playoff teams. Let’s see what happens this offseason.

At minimum I'd argue that having Parsons gives us the win over GB instead of the tie. He had to be worth at least a 1 point swing if he changed teams.

We keep suggesting the narrative that Parsons means a horrible run defense, however somehow GB is top 10 in yards allowed per rush this year at 3.9 and yards per game at 98. Very early in his career I would agree that he was a liability in the run game, but I'm not sure that is completely accurate. The Cowboys have struggled against the run in recent years due to ignoring the DT position and LB positions.

What I don't get is why everyone thinks we had to move on from Parsons in order to fix other positions? Yeah I get that it helps with the additional draft picks, but why couldn't we have had Parsons and still go get a great interior player like Q? That's how you build top defenses and make actual championship runs. As fans we need to stop accepting the BS that we can't keep adding talent to our roster when Jerry/Stephen cry about the cap.

Lol, this place is comedy central.

Im pretty happy with the trade so far. End of next year is the earliest I would really analyze it.
