Green Bay won the trade

I mean in this very thread is a guy who says Jerry was responsible for winning those 3 Superbowls
He's not the only one that believes that. Yeah, he hired Coach Jimmy, signed a few checks, but on the field where the game is played was all Coach Jimmy, period.

At minimum I'd argue that having Parsons gives us the win over GB instead of the tie. He had to be worth at least a 1 point swing if he changed teams.

We keep suggesting the narrative that Parsons means a horrible run defense, however somehow GB is top 10 in yards allowed per rush this year at 3.9 and yards per game at 98. Very early in his career I would agree that he was a liability in the run game, but I'm not sure that is completely accurate. The Cowboys have struggled against the run in recent years due to ignoring the DT position and LB positions.

What I don't get is why everyone thinks we had to move on from Parsons in order to fix other positions? I think the idea is that if we paid him as the highest paid non-QB in the NFL that we would not have been able to fix much of anything. Our defensive roster was garbage and is still pretty bad in spots. Maybe we could have had everything, but look up the last time one of the best pass rushers in the NFL won a championship. Everyone says pass rush is the top position outside of QB and LT, but Dallas needed lots of help in run defense. Lots, and we weren’t close.

A couple months ago sure, but what salary cap space do they still have? Between Clark and Q the cap savings are pretty much gone already, no?
Currently the Cowboys have the 2nd most salary cap space available in the league. Last I heard (couple of weeks ago) they had around $96,000,000 available.

Not overall, but rather what would be different had they kept Parsons. Clark & Q basically. Q is a $24m AAV, Clark a $21M AAV. They add up to basically what Parsons makes in terms of AAV. If they end up keeping both these guys that pretty much is the Parsons money. Thats the part of the argument I don't think is fair. Now if they end up letting Clark walk this offseason that would free up some space to spend with that money, but as of right now the players acquired from the Parsons trade had made the money part pretty much even out.

It's all about how you spend the pick we got left. Even if GB wins the Super Bowl, you can find good value at the bottom of the 1st round. Travis Frederick was a 31st pick. We could've had TJ Watt at 26. Lots of great players were 2nd round, Gronkowski comes to mind and Michael Strahan was 2nd round I believe.

The real issue is whether you trust the hierarchy to make the right draft decisions. We already gave one pick for Quinnen Williams. If the pick is good, we win or get the balance of the trade. If the pick busts we lose the trade. It doesn't look good now, but nobody is going to know for sure until 1 or 2 more seasons.

Parsons is currently ranked 3rd in sacks with 12.5 . And he has made some big plays in key parts of games this year. Packers are a tie away from first place. And my instincts tell me they are my dark horse to represent N.F.C. in the Super Bowl if the Rams should fail.

Packers have enough beef up front that Micahs mediocre run stopping abilities are not an issue in their defense. They just needed someone who could come up with game changing pressures in key situations late in games.

And he has become that guy for them. The perfect icing on a cake. Packers are in win NOW mode. And they just might go all the way. While Dallas is stuck in the annual okie doke and "we'll git 'em next year" mentality.
False

2. Nobody counts second team all pro unless you have an agenda.
Everyone counts second team all-pro. Where did you hear this?

If a player is voted into the pro bowl but isn’t starting, do you petition Pro-Football Reference to take down his pro bowl designation?

Packers are now number one in their division. And one tie away from being tied with the Rams for the number one seed in the NFC.

There are people here who said Clark for Parsons straight up would have been a fair deal.
Holy cow, I hope those people never touch any sort of roster management at any level. Not even pee wee.

To me, they only "win" this trade if they get to a Super Bowl. The idea that a team “won” a trade usually implies that the move actually changed their outcome.....especially when you give up a huge asset like two 1st round picks. Green Bay was already a playoff team before Parsons arrived. They reached the postseason in 5 of their last 6 seasons. Otherwise, it’s just another season where both teams end up at home. And it’s not like Dallas hasn't already gotten some quality pieces in return.

(This is not me knocking on Parsons. He’s a great player and would help either team)

Imagine being so weak you have to steal other people's posting style. I say she now it's "she". I said she slurps Ferguson she says I slurp schoonmaker (I've never been a schoon fan).

Now she's bringing up tj hockenson 2.0 lulz
