Whats up everyone ? Jinxx13x here been over at the official dallascowboys.com forum since 2013 and recently been seeing and hearing alot of the cool members from there coming over here. i figured it was time to check it out!

As the title says i am a Cowboys fan living behind enemy lines up here in NY. Not only is my wife a cowboys fan ( although she never liked football or watched until she met me now she watches every sunday i have also converted my mother in law she loves to throw up the X after dez scores and calls me ) but my 2 year old boy got his first Jason Witten jersey weeks after he was born and the boys went 12-4 his first year watching.

I have really enjoyed being a cowboys fan up here since i have a few other friends that also like them and we enjoy going to giants stadium when the boys come to town or heading to the local sports bar to give our boys some support.

I never made it to the old stadium but for my 40th birthday present my wife got me tickets 5 rows up on the 50 yard line vs the titans at the new stadium. Went to the Texas State Fair at the Cotton bowl and the game on sunday awesome time best trip ever. Would love to get back there again some day it was awesome to finally watch a game where i wasn't the enemy

As far as my forum personality i tend to always think positive and think of the glass half full. I am a very positive person and thats just the way i roll. For instance i had a tuff time getting upset or reading into things last year like many others i saw ready to jump off a bridge. The thought process i used was Cowboys had some pretty unusual bad luck to lose the top QB, top WR, Top DB so i took it for what it was. Yet i thought the defense actually kept us in plenty of games when you really think about it even though we couldn't score or get a first down on offense. So i guess while others may have been flipping out i kept it all in perspective.

I would like to give a quick shoutout to all my brothers from the other forum and hello to all my new brothers i will soon meet from here.

Lets go boys! Let destroy the Giants Sunday afternoon this way i can rip on some friends and family and get this season off on the right foot ! :flagwave:

thanks Job i appreciate the hospitality!
Hey jinx. I'm a lifelong cowboys fan living in philly. Mostly watch Cowboys games by myself or in a bar full of enemies :D.

I try not to be an obnixious fan so it's usually all good.

I'm generally a glass half full guy. Guess it's cause I love the sport so much I want to enjoy it as much as I can. I watch all the games I can and not just the cowboys games. Incidentally I catch a lot of eagles games, highlights and news living in Philly so I'm always pretty tuned it to the Eagles as I'm sure you have the same feel for giants team

Speaking of New York. A lot of analysts are high on New York this year but I just don't see it. I think their o line reminds me of what romo had to deal with 3 years ago. Not really sure at all about their defense.

How do you think their defense will perform this year.

I actually thought the Giants defense played better then expected their defensive line could be scary, I think their linebackers are still a little weak and they will be vulnerable in the middle. Apple looked good so far, but knock was he will commit alot of PI penalties (im ok with that for sure lol)
I really think their O-line looked really bad and i mean really bad their forum and my friends say its just pre-season i tend to believe you cannot just turn it on when the games are for real so we will see but now i think i worry more about the skins !

I went to Phili for my first game a couple years ago but i tailgated with a lot of cool eagle fans ( did i just say that ) so i was protected sort of speak they could mess with me but noone else decent experience had alot of fun. Not at all what i expected. cool to meet ya

Glad you made it over. There's still a bunch of cool guys at the other site, but they steadfastly refuse to come over here because they feel that they would be leaving "home." I can't fault them for it, but some of use felt it was time for a change.

I used to feel that way and wouldn't even consider another site and I've seen some posters on this site feel the same way and some don't like us coming over but that's the small minority. We had the same unwelcome mat out over there from a small minority. Takes some a while to accept new and I know all too well that I am an acquired taste and not everyone digs that but I gotta be me.

There's some great folks over there and here as well. Some just take a little time to get used to it and I remember first signing up over there and it wasn't all smooth sailing. I don't recall how long ago that was but the site's on the 3rd transformation since I joined. And we raised hell with every change.

I'll have to go back and visit some, really miss some of those folks and I actually never had a run in with Nurse Ratched but I knew it was coming my way since every rule she listed that she was hired to enforce.....I was breaking. What did they expect? Toss the keys to the inmates that's what you get. I think that was the plan. Let's give them a little something and they won't try to take it all.

I also think it has a lot to do with the fact that's the team's site and some felt we were giving the man the finger. This site has a different feel to it.

Yes, your fine if you are accepted by some fans from the other team.

My brothers are steelers fans - we went to a game in pitsburgh years ago. I cant remember what year but it was the game that Tashard Choice started and ran for over 100 yards on them but we lost a close one. I had my Emmitt jersey on and my whole face painted silver with a blue star painted over my eye. We went tailgating and steelers fans were stopping in mid sentence and staring at me like I had some nerve. But I was polite and was with a large group of steelers fans who just kept saying - he's ok, he's with us.

Funny thing about their security in that stadium. I didn't have great seats but when I walked in there was hardly anyone checking tickets. I asked if I could go down behind the Cowboys sideline and take pics, they said it was ok. So I went down there and there was a bunch of empty seats about 10 rows from the field at the 20 yard line. Im just standing there taking pics and the game is getting ready to start. I looked around and there was no one checking tickets or anything. So I just sat down after the national anthem and watched the whole game there with some old head steeler fans that turned out to be pretty cool. There were still a lot of empty seats so I wasn't worried about someone finding me in their seat.

One negative though - it was a night game in November and it was brutally cold. Probably why there were a lot of empty seats.

When you've posted in the main forums enough for the mods to deem that you'll be sticking around and won't be trolling, spamming, or disruptive. Anywhere between 25 and 200 posts would be a good guess, but it really just depends on whether the mods agree that you're good to go or not.. The new member forum doesn't count toward this total.

What always used to get me about the old forum was when a member who had a very high post count used the "how many posts do you have?" as some sort of argument against the relevancy of the person's post as if post count equaled intelligence or ownership of the site. Another one was judging someone by their chosen nickname or avatar. I've seen that less here, but there are some here. There are snobs in both places. I'm handling it differently here than I did there. There I would confront the person. Here? They're not worth the time to communicate with until they develop some perspective. If people want to dislike me based on stupid reasons, good for them. They can continue to be stupid. :D

Couldn't agree more, I don't know enough about these posters yet to realize when it's tongue in cheek.

We're pretty good about the post-count thing. Since that's a redonkulous reason to think you have credibility in the first place. Being and idiot for a long time and talking too much does not make anybody less of an idiot. Unfortunately.

The 'likes' thing is slightly more of an issue, but even then it's only one or two posters who have the temerity to point it out. It's also dumb. Many of our best posters are not likes-leaders. Likes leaders are staff members who do a lot for the site, or cynics who often make fun of things because snark works on online forums and they're rather be snarky and liked than serious and less-liked. So it goes.

That said, I think I've seen one unwelcome post directed any any of you guys, period. That's pretty good for these parts, where nobody agrees on anything. You should consider yourselves warmly-received.
