Nobody besides the Cowboys organization and Greg Hardy knows how he carried himself last season. Obviously we didn't feel it was worth it.

Crazy, on one thread you find people bashing the team for taking too many chances on players with character concerns and on another thread, the team is "on a high horse" for not jumping on a player that they took a chance on last season.

they didn't take a chance on hardy.....they signed him to a no risk contract....they used him up and then dumped him when the season went into the toilet

They dumped him after the season.

They could've dumped him as soon as the pictures leaked. They would've been praised for that. Instead they finished out the season with him. After the season, they decided the risk was bigger than the reward and they have more information on the matter than any team in the league.

It took a week before training camp for a team to show a shimmer of interest in Hardy and I know we are not the only team that could use a premier pass rusher. Chances are, teams reached out to Dallas, got the story on him and stayed away. The Jags can take that chance, they are a small market and nobody really expects more than mediocrity from them on a good year.

I don't think it's a high horse with the team. We took him when domestic violence was hanging over his head.

The lack of interest by Dallas has to do with how he acted while with the team. We don't know the full story on that, but that the team doesn't want him tells us a lot.

Weed, DUI, PEDs, sexual assault, theft, domestic violence, foul language tweets are all OK but being late to a meeting is the Death Penalty- so are jeans on the bus

And you're assuming that Dallas' actions are valid and justified.

Does it tell us they're justified in seriously weakening their team? Or do some assume that because that's what they want the truth to be?

We totally need Hardy. Mayowa, Irving and Tapper scare not one defensive coordinator. At least with Hardy the opposing QB will get abused, verbally and maybe physically. Without him we'd have to blitz on all passing downs. Not Marinelli's style at all.

I think it's very cool that you know EXACTLY what happen and we don't. I mean it sounds completely logical that all he did was be late to a meeting. Especially after all the public crap about the **** he was doing came out in the news, but didn't actually happen.

Yes, because it's about insubordination not breaking the law. A coach cannot control what players do when they are not at work, but he can have certain expectations when the player "clocks in."

If Hardy's behavior affected the work environment, then it's right to not bring him back. It would be like me having my reporter miss budget meetings, but expecting the rest of my reporters to show up for them. If I did not correct the behavior of the late reporter, then I run the risk of the other reporters believing that behavior is acceptable.

Now, if Hardy had played lights out last season despite whatever he did in the locker room, then the team would have retained him ... and the coach has the fallback for special treatment that he's a special player.

Now watch how Hardy will seem to be Angel down. But in reality the media will stop giving him attention.

I assume it because losing him does weaken the team. Go back to what Dallas was saying last season about Hardy. It was clear that Jones wanted to keep him.

So what happened? We don't know, but there appear to be some indications. Based on the fact that the team didn't try to re-sign him, it appears there's at least some truth to those indications.

I'd say the reason why is probably worse than what's been indicated. But again, if the defense had carried us or shown vast improvement last year, then it's likely Dallas would have overlooked Hardy's faults, just like they overlooked Haley's back in the day.

Again, without the truth, people are free to interpret whatever they want.

Or if the coach was better at dealing with problem child types.

Yes, I am sure that's all Hardy did. Show up for one meeting late.

I mean he also had that blow up on the sideline where he disrespected a coach. And before you try to argue that it shows passion, I can guaran-damn-tee if say Fletcher Cox or Beckham slapped a clip board out of one of their coach's hands, you'd be talking about what a problem child that guy is.

Given the Cowboys have always taken chances on guys with checkered backgrounds, only a fool would think they aren't resigning him because he missed a meeting or two. Shoot, McClain continues to be a royal pain in the butt, shows up out of shape, gets into some off the field issues, gets suspended for drugs................ and they won't cut him? But Hardy misses a meeting or two, and bam, he's gone?

You can't be that naïve.

You can't be that naive....either Jerry's wife, Jason's wife or somebody else in the FO told Jerry they had cut Hardy when the pictures came out last year....that is when everything changed.....everyone wants to give the Cowboys credit for taking a chance on Hardy but they really didn't....they made him sign a one-sided deal with all kinds of outs, pledged to be behind him but didn't help him at all with his 10 game appeal.....he had grounds to follow Brady to Federal Court but he took the reduced 4 games to put it in the past....then the pictures dropped, which changed nothing, except the teams support.....all of a sudden the rumors started....

My problem is that the Cowboys are blacklisting him with the innuendos...if he was as bad as they say last year they could have cut him, saved millions and everyone in the world would stand behind them because Hardy is the devil(even though he has a perfectly clean record.....no criminal record and no failed drug or PED tests)....but they went the other way and their silence is deafening..

Cowboys didn't blacklist Hardy, his actions did while with the Cowboys and before. If anything in your paragraph was true, multiple teams would do their sue diligence and take a shot. In that massive Hardy thread a 3-4 know it alls kept telling me that we'd be signing him when his name was cleared or other teams would be waiting to swoop in. Wrong on all counts so far. He dug his own grave.
