There's only seven days.

However, perhaps he could get an injuction and play.

Who knows. They make things up as they go along in the US court system.

90 day deadline for what? These media types keep posting these arbitrary deadlines. Before it was a "two week" deadline like two months ago for Hardy to file in court.

I'm not aware of any 90 day statute of limitations for filing a civil complaint in federal court.

Maybe not the actual court system but rather the CBA dictates you have 90 days to take action on an appeal ruling and if you don't you agree to the findings?

They absolutely would, because its an allegation of domestic violence. Under the player conduct policy, based on the time the alleged misconduct took place, the maximum suspension that players were put on notice of was 2 games (Rice, Peterson). So the notice argument can be used, but only for capping Hardy's suspension at 2 games.

Still, as I said above, as a long shot argument I would say that the previous season spent on the commissioner's exempt list constitutes a constructive suspension in excess of the standard 2 games under that policy, and therefore Hardy should be suspended 0 games.

Bingo.

If Hardy takes this to court, I think it is very reasonable to expect an outcome just as you describe here.

The man virtually missed the entire season last year. The standard 2 game policy should be a no brainer for the judge to reduce his suspension to but considering the time he has already missed associated with his case, 0 games is very necessary.

Shefy saying that tomorrow is the 90 day deadline which Hardy can appeal.

th

Yeuuuup, and not only would he be there for the opener vs the Gnats but the next week vs the Eagles is a critical game to have a Greg Hardy available. Of corse he will probably end up serving a 2 games suspension later in the year. Which may be a positive refresher to rest up a nick in the Kraken Armor here and there.

I would expect that he would ask for an injunction as well....and be available opening night vs the Giants ;)

If Mara did in fact have a role in Dallas' early schedule, especially the two three division games in 6 weeks including two against the Giants, with the intent of the Cowboys not having Hardy for those games, then it would be very ironic if we did have Hardy and they had to go without Cruz, JPP, Flowers, and all of the DBs they lost this summer. That would be some serious Karmic stuff (not that I am endorsing them having injuries).

We also don't know what else the NFL screwed up in Hardy's appeal. Did they not let him examine evidence or cross-examine or direct examine certain witnesses or investigators as well? Did they also foul up the process?

Well if Hardy is off the first 4 games, he will be better rested for the rest of the season.... Have to look at the positive side of Hardy off for 4 games.

Yep. Questions abound.

The NFLPA better get the ball rolling for Hardy. I'd bet that the NFL would be willing to negotiate and maybe settle but I'd go for a full reduction if I were Hardy considering the circumstances.

I can't recall if he in fact did have his record expunged.

Hope your right but somehow I would think they would look at this a little differently given the charges. Not saying it's right or wrong but your looking at significant assault charges vs. deflating the air from football. I can see some impartial outside pressure on the judge which could theoretically come from his own wife.

Yeah I agree, However he might get it down to 2 games like the other 2.
But he might be better off doing the 4 games and being done with it.

If he goes to court the spotlight will be on him and what he did will be brought up over and over.
At this point all that has faded away, so does he really want the media spotlight on him??

I dont think any judge would overturn his case for 0 games.
But hey it is up to him and cowboys, go for it,maybe get it reduced to 2.

Shoot for the stars, land on the moon. Go in hard wanting 0 games and settle for 2. That's a healthy amount of scratch to be made.

He should've done his consulting of the NFLPA much sooner than this. Brady's ruling shouldn't have changed Hardy's argument that the incident occurred when under a different penalty system.

Perhaps not. But with a recent judicial ruling, you can go in bargaining pretty hard against the NFL for a settlement. It's always better to have more and more ammo on your side than not.
