They are talking on NFL network about how a NE team former physician is saying that gronks career maybe over. He said he's never seen anyone come back fro three back surgeries

If you had Brady throwing to Witten for his entire career his number would be up in every category. You have to factor in Bledsoe, Testaverde etc. Jason is a generational player that stupid idiot fans think can be replaced, he won't be. Enjoy it while it lasts. Gronk as good as he is might be near the end, dumb as OP is for comparing him to Romo, theres nearly a decade in the age gap.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Gronk retire before Witten at this point. Best guess is that the body wasn't designed to hold up while doing what Gronk does at his size.

Terrell Davis vs Emmitt Smith is a nice comp. Terrell had 1 season better then any Emmitt had, and a second really good season, but basically only played sporadically after his 4th year. Gronk has had 2 full seasons, a couple of 15 game seasons and a couple that he's below 10 in. Gronk when healthy you take him virtually every time. The problem is you never know when that is going to be, there's a reason the saying the best ability is availability is a thing. Even if he's not as good knowing someone is going to answer the bell every week and be very good doing it is something that's rare and fairly priceless.

Gronk
88 games
68 TDs
Averages 1 TD every 5.9 catches

Witten
218 games
62 TDs
Averages 1 TD every 17.2 receptions

And the fact is Gronk probably won't come within 100 games of Witten's total. Won't come near his catch totals either.
