That doesn't make any sense. He dropped because of his DUI arrest.

I don't think the DUI hurt his stock nearly as much as the Tebow comparisons did.

In the end, I saw him mocked in the 4th round on a regular basis. He went where most thought he would based on the trends I saw.

He's THE QB I wanted outside of the big 3, glad he's a Cowboy.

I would be surprised if he turns into an elite NFL QB, but he certainly has the talent to be an excellent backup and perhaps a quality starter if surrounded by the right talent and system. I could see him as that scrappy QB with just enough arm and accuracy to make some throws, but his athletic ability makes him a servicable, yet exciting player to watch.

My only hope is we dont pass on a future QB in the draft a year or 2 from now because we like Daks progress.

Maybe. Just saying he dropped because he played in a pro offense style and he's struggling to play in a pro offense because he was in a pro offense in college makes 0 sense.

Actually it makes tons of sense. He dropped because of the offensive system he played in mostly. He played in a spread offense . He rarely lined up under center.

Disregard.

Yeah I was gonna say every mock draft i've seen had him going in the 4th. None of the knocks I saw was the DUI or character concerns. Maybe the DUI pushed him to late in the 4th as opposed to early in the 4th but he was always around the 4th.

I like this kid. I know a lot of people don't like a QB that runs the ball but Dak is currently listed at 6' 2" and 238 lbs and looks to be in great shape. He's about the size of an average linebacker and while a not track star (4.8 40) he looks like a running back when he takes off. I don't think NFL QBs should make a habit of running but having a guy that can run is a plus in my book.

That's high praise, the Rodney Peete comp was made today and I would be happy with that.

RIP McNair.
High praise indeed. I played against Steve and he is also my frat brother. Dak's demeanor reminds me of him. Dak's game isn't too shabby either. I don't see any Peete in Dak's game. They are very different players physically.

Gruden's comparison to McNabb was interesting. It's the first time I'd heard that. If nothing else, let's hope he takes care of the ball as well as McNabb did.

Dak Prescott QB Mississippi St

STRENGTHS
Dak might be one of the most improved quarterbacks in this draft.

TALENT BOARD: ROUND 2
If you’re looking for a potential starting quarterback to develop, I think selecting Dak would be very smart. The truth is every team in this draft should be looking at drafting Dak and not just the teams with conventional offenses and boring offensive coordinators.
Thanks for posting this. Good stuff.

This kid has a long way to go, but.......

What I really like about him is that he's a QB that doesn't look like he just wants to run. He can run, but he'd rather stand in and throw it. That's critical to be successful.

He's woefully inaccurate right now, but he has the physical tools to learn. Definitely worth the time.

Tomorrow night will show us something. I've heard the argument it's preseason, backups, etc.
If that's true then evaluation based off college play is also largely irrelevant.

You give that some thought.

Maybe Google stereotypes and African American QB

But tell what "predictable assumptions" were made IN MY POST that he responded to

That was just a gratuitous nonsense remark by you

Questioning his work ethic and intelligence when by all accounts those things are not an issue.

I never questioned them
I said i don't know if he has those because j don't know the guy but that is what he will need to succeed and that i was pulling for him

There are no "assumptions" there

In fact, if I said that he had those, that would be an assumption on my part
