I will be very suprised if he plays. "If" he plays I doubt he finishes the game.

I bet he suits up, but sits

He will suit up. They have 1 1/2 hours before KO to deactivate him or not, plus one other player. Or as you said, they can keep him activate if they are undecided. Then sit him. But you lose a roster spot for the game. Or play him limited or only in key situations.

TNEW healthy for season > 2 losses

I disagree. With a new coaching staff I think coming out with 2 straight losses would essentially tank this entire season. Wade could lose this team by the time we head into Chicago if we start out 0 - 2. There is nothing that creates more belief than winning, and for all the talk that guys are buying into Wade's approach, that would change very quickly should we open the season 0 - 2 and then have to go into Chicago with our confidence low. Frankly I'd say that's an almost guaranteed 0 - 3 start, and then we could probably start thinking about the draft.

Let me elaborate

TNEW healthy for the season > 2 losses

because if TNEW starts and plays then we lose him or he is ineffective for year - THEN what?

after 0-2 you realistically get it to 2-2

If we have a choice on having TNEW in beginning of season or 2nd half of season... I choose the latter

That's where we differ. This is a relatively young team, the defense folded down the stretch last year and we've got a new scheme. Realistically I think if this team starts 0 - 2 there is virtually no chance for them to get to 2 - 2. If they start 0 - 2 I think we'd be lucky to be sitting at 1 - 3 after 4 games. Because this defense will be reeling if we start off 0 - 2 and giving up a lot of points.

I don't think many people have paid attention to what has been said about Newman's injury. Right now, it's a partial tear. The worst that can happen is to tear it fully and they said that would allow him to play with much less pain than the partial tear gives him.

The only concerns that really need to be considered are 1) can he tolerate the pain from the partial tear enough to play and 2) can he play effectievly.

If the answer to either of those is "no" then he should not play. If the answer to both is yes, then by all means, put him in there and see what he can do.

That is just ridiculous. You cant use the word "realistically" for something that hasnt happened yet. You cant use "virtually" for the latter part either. It doesnt work.

If you go 0-2 there are still 14 games left.
If we go 0-2 the team KNOWS that TNEW is coming back.

Bottom line: I would rather play 2-3(in beginning) without TNEW than 12-13 without(into the season).

Sure you can, I just did and it worked fine. Just like you claimed we'd realistically get to 2 - 2 in spite of the fact that it hasn't happened... or is it only realistic when it's your opinion? Sorry, your version of what's realistic is every bit as 'ridiculous' as mine. Particularly when you're talking about a young team that has talked this offseason about how they were held back on D and when there are all the prognosticators saying great things about the team. An 0 - 2 start would be just about as bad as it gets for the confidence of this team. So why is it realistic for them to get to 2 - 2 after that? If we go 0 - 2 facing the Giants at home and Miami (who's going to likely suck) on the road we've got bigger problems than missing Newman, and getting him back won't suddenly make the difference between losing to scrubs in Miami and beating Chicago on the road.
