Nope and he isn't going to it doesn't look like.

Maybe it's just me but I wouldn't take any player with injury issues in the first especially a RB.. Let some other team take the risk.. At least AP came back and proved he could still do it.. As good as this kid was and maybe... With so many holes to fill.. I wouldn't do it..

Gurley is my #1 RB but the likelihood of him being there at #27 are slimmer than Katy Perry marrying me today. I like Gordon but his mileage worries me a bit. The Johnson's and Allen in the 3rd would give us a back who can do some very good things, and bring us a difference maker hopefully in the secondary too. Gurley & 3rd DB <= 1st rd CB and 3rd RB, at least this year IMO.

He's going to be gone in the top 12 picks.

That is quite a bold statement....

I am not quite sure why everyone is saying NOW he is going to shoot up the draft boards. All this medical check did was prove that he is on the right path to being completely healthy...which was expected this whole time. Its not saying he is ready to go right now...

There's a difference between 'checked out fine' and ready to play.

Guys with torn ACLs in November pretty routinely make it back for training camp. Young guys especially. You might be concerned if someone blew a knee in a bowl game but he's had plenty of time to rehab

Willis McGahee says hello. Before the latest examination, McShay had him going as high as 6 or 7. Some team will take the Nestea plunge.

I am not sure what you are trying to say about McGahee... I am well aware of his knee injuries and draft position.. Your point being?

Not sure what he has to do with people acting like Gurleys positive medical check out changes much. It would have been big news if something NEGATIVE was found. But him being on track to heal is par for the course.

Point is that those who feel that teams are going to pass on him just because he's a RB; suffered a knee injury in college--a position that has been devalued by so called experts, are dead wrong. Teams see the immense potential in this kid. He's the most complete RB in college since AP. He's going to be long gone, knee injury or not, long before we even get a sniff.

That has nothing to do with the Cowboys. What do I care what a coach, or a player, did at a previous stop?

Look, I like Jones and I'm OK with him at 27. But a RB has a potential to step in and be a star. I don't believe a CB has nearly the same impact, especially not in 2015.

Well said, a RB is ready to go and be a difference maker.:)

wait and see....

it is all of ten days, makign bold blanket statements is a good way to end up eating crow.

hilarious how rappaport has zero credibility but this statement now is gospel and means gurley is going great.

I hope I'm utterly wrong.I hope he falls right into our laps. I'd take him in a second. I just feel that Gurley will be gone between pick 8 and pick 20.

You have a point.

Next time you turn in a resume, you should just hand him a blank piece of paper and ask him why he cares what you did at a previous stop.

I hope he is gone. Pushes another guy down for us.
I think drafting RB round 1 is a bad way to build a team.
Taking one who is still limping is a really bad gamble imho.

All that said, if he REALLY healthy and not just some text from his agent to a reporter that will print almost anything sourced, he is definitely a top 15 talent in this draft.
So it is all relative.

I'll live either way.

My take is pretty simple. I can easily win without Gurley.
Not sure I can win without my R1 pick being a starter this year however.
So call me risk averse.

Still wouldn't shock me for Gurley to fall more than most think then we find out his health isn't so "fine" as has been labeled.

This isn't a decade ago and there is a well documented shift in how teams value the position the past several years.

Umm, no offense but you guys are goofy.

CB has substantially more value than RBs.
And the SB was won by a rookie DB, not a running back.

NE signed a veteran street free agent to replace their rookie RB and deactivated him.

There wasn't a rookie running back in the top 15 for playoff rushing yards.
None had even 50 yards rushing for the entire playoffs.

I'd love to have this guy. He's hands down the best RB in the draft. But he's not going to last to 27 and even if he did, can he carry the load in 2015 coming off that knee injury which occured late in the season at UGA? If he stays healthy, there is no risk-he will produce. But Dallas needs immediate help at the position.

At 27, I'd take the gamble-but there is a clear downside given the Cowboy's position.

The McGahee injury recovery to be drafted in the first is absolutely a legit comparison, as is the Peterson injury.

One of our high school football players tore ACL and meniscus. Had surgery in November....it's April and he is doing pretty much everything he could pre-injury. He will be going to Air Force Academy to play football and expects to be ready for training camp. I think 9 months of recovery is becoming the norm for young athletes.
