I'd love to have a reason to get on the Gus Bus. Pretty done with Dunbar.

It's all about his mentality and how hard he wants to work for it. It appears that he has the physical tools to be a rb in the league, but let's see how he works at learning the system and picking up blitzes.

In Gus I trust.

Did I mention I've seen him in person working his magic on the Stephen F Austin field?

Oh ok.

I decided to do a little more research on this guy and I found this little optimistic article written before the draft which I felt some might find interesting.

In a running back class that is being heralded as the deepest and most talented since 2008, it was inevitable that this would happen.
As we climb over ourselves to settle the Todd Gurley versus Melvin Gordon debate, or try to make sense of the tier behind them,1 there’s something else happening here: very talented running backs are slipping through the cracks.
Enter Stephen F. Austin (SFA) running back Gus Johnson, who had a terrific career for the Lumberjacks and quietly earned a Combine invite (spoiler: that's a big deal). Let’s explore why this small-school runner could be the perfect lottery ticket for NFL and dynasty GMs alike.

I think some people are a bit high on the Gus dust here...

The Legend of Gus Johnson. Poor kid has no idea how much pressure the fans are putting on him!

If he reads this board I'm afraid he might freeze up when he gets his chance. A lot of hopes and dreams are riding on the Gus Bus.

I can see it now, our undrafted QB throws the go ahead TD to our undrafted WR, the D gets the ball back and we grind it out with our undrafted RB to secure the win. And maybe he'll be running behind our undrafted LG.

The headlines practically write themselves. "Dallas Cowboys, winners of Super Bowl 50. The team that nobody wanted"

If he pops of a few big runs against the 1's, i'll be impressed.
If he pops of a few big runs against the 2's, i'll be intrigued.
If he pops of a few big runs against the 3's, i'll be unexcited.

You should have ordered that the other way.

They can just keep him on the practice squad. He would have to do something spectacular in the preseason games in order for another team to want to sign him to their 53 considering that all teams could have signed him up until the Cowboys signed him a couple of weeks ago.

Do somethingspectacular, meaning just staying healthy. I'm only half kidding,

There is a Gus Johnson on every team in the league that fans have high hopes on .
I sure wish the Cowboys could have gotten Rawles instead of Seattle.

They aren't competing against each other. McFadden and Gus might be. Dunbar is on the team already.
Jerry loves Dunbar. Supposedly Stephen already questioned the coaches about the use of Dunbar more.

As long as the replacement is also strong on special teams. We already lost Harris, so they're scrapping to find people replace his four ST positions. Losing Dunbar would make it worse in that regard.

yeah, I say that Dunbar is on edgy ground but I have to correct myself and say that with caution. The only RB I think is actually safe is Randle. But yeah, ST is very important and Dunbar may need that skillset.

He has been my pet cat since we signed him. People forget that a RB is the easiest position to come in and play in the NFL as well.

If he can pass block and knocks out a couple hundred yards in the PS he's here to stay.

As I stated weeks ago when he was signed, nobody ever heard of Alfred Morris or Terrell Davis when they came into the league. How did that turn out?
