The overreaction crowd drumbeat kind of makes you shake your head doesn't it?

Yeah. I'm not fully sold on our RB but I'm more than willing to hold off final judgment until they hit the field and are playing. I don't think any of the injury are serious, I will say in McFadden case it is a concern given the hamstring issues of the past. They will all be at practice this weekend from my understanding so just wait and see. If in the end the coaches are not happy with what they have then I'm sure the Cowboys will look to the cuts and even a possible trade. Just have to wait and see how this all plays out.

I live in the Philly area as well and Murray's absence is causing concern. My point being had Murray been a Cowboy under these same circumstances, Dallas fans would still think it's the end of the world.

There is a difference when you have a veteran player that has produced and training camp is primarily for getting ready for the regular season without getting injuries. What we have is players who should be trying to win a starting running back job on Americas Team where it seems that every back wants to play.
Are you not concerned about the RB position? Talent, health, ect?

Over reaction? Ohh thats right. You think anybody can run behind this line. Including Gus Johnson and Lache....yeah, thats a great frame of mind to have.....good luck with that. But maybe you have become accustomed to losing after all these years. And apathy has set in. As you read all of the comments from the "panickers"...who are concerned;

I am thinking SB this year. And so should everybody else. And if that doesnt wake you up, nothing will. And as of today, we dont have any RBs healthy.....less then one month from kickoff........And the guys were hoping get healthy, arent really all that good................But hey, everybody is over reacting, we will be just fine; Maybe Santa will bring us a RB for xmas.......We will just stumble on to a good RB. No worries.

Or, maybe Romo is going to go back to the ole gunslinging days of those great 8-8 seasons!

Over Reaction? M. Irvin was begging Belicheck to send Jonas Gray to the Dallas Cowboys. Stephen Jones has made a strong statement. I think ole Mike probably knows a little more about the situation...... But go ahead, call him out too. Time to wake up. Were screwed at the RB position and it needs fixed, right now.

Better than Gus.. A back with no speed, vision or burst.

I felt like we saw a burst from Johnson.

No way on earth did we see enough of him to say he does or doesn't have vision.

You guys are just ready to write the guys career but you don't have enough information.

You're going off of his draft position and that is it and as a Cowboy fan you should've learned your lesson by now that quality players can be found anywhere in the draft.

IMO, Gus needs volume to really show his qualities.. He looks like a guy that is going to impose his will much like Murray.

Odds are he'll be a practice squad guy unless we see an injury but he did absolutely nothing to help or hurt his case last night.

BTW, he's not a magician and neither are most RB's. Gordon had nowhere to run last night and he went 6 for 11. It's not like Gus Johnson had much space to work with.. A lot of you guys are being absolutely ridiculous and unfair with your evaluations of these players.

It is way to quick. But, just the way he moves. Its slow and cumbersome. He isnt going to be anything special. At best, a short yardage, backup guy. And thats a big hill for him.

I feel a cool breeze coming in from the North !!!

Conan is coming?

"They said he would come.
From the north,
a man of great strength.
A conqueror.
A man who would someday be king
by his own hand.
Who would crush the snakes (NFC East)
of the earth."

Johnson had 17 snaps ??? He was pretty much the only back that play the first half. What's the matter defending your pet cat ?

you got that all from one game??

Saw enough yup. He has power but other than that border line average. I'm sure he can block well and they might keep him around for that. But in my opinion the guy is average.

This should be the last thread about Gus Johnson, his 15 minutes is over(actually about 45 mins).

well, I actually some some good things from him. You might be right because of how he got here and the fact that his injury may forbid any more chance to prove himself before he gets cut or thrown on PS, just don't get all the way too early judgements on his ability. Need more time but hey we will see

Yeah, thats what I thought. That JAG had better NUMBERS than Gordon. Stats don't lie, eh?

Sounds like you have agenda. Every RB on our team has a reason they will fail. Gordon is million times better. Ok. ha.

Your forget one major stat here:

Gordon - 1st round pick.

Gus Johnson - UDFA.

One preseason game is not a true indicator of whether a player is going to great or not. I'm willing to bet if a team had a choice whether to pick 1st round talent or an UDFA talent, they will most certainly pick the 1st round talent.

a separated shoulder is not a season ending injury, not that he was even a lock for the team.

My senior year in high school I played RB w/ a 2nd/3rd degree seperation of the AC joint. I got through the season....but I wasn't as effective I could have been w/o the injury. Taking shot after shot @ practice doesn't let the injury heal. He's done. Time to keep scraping the bottom of the barrel. LOL......All of this could have been solved by taking Ajayi in th 5th round:rolleyes:

If I didn't watch the game and I was on the fence about our approach to the runningback situation I would probably buy into this.

I watched the game though and the guy got what was there.

That's not defending. That's the reality. He might have missed 1 hole that I saw.

The rest of the time it was the Chargers loading the box up and selling out against the run.

I just don't think he has the vision or that burst - which a lot of people criticized Murray of not having. Yet they defend this guy as if there is no tomorrow and find ways to bash Murray at every single moment. How strange.
