Gus Johnson separated shoulder

well, I actually some some good things from him. You might be right because of how he got here and the fact that his injury may forbid any more chance to prove himself before he gets cut or thrown on PS, just don't get all the way too early judgements on his ability. Need more time but hey we will see

I thinking what more can he show ?

Your forget one major stat here:

Gordon - 1st round pick.

Gus Johnson - UDFA.

One preseason game is not a true indicator of whether a player is going to great or not. I'm willing to bet if a team had a choice whether to pick 1st round talent or an UDFA talent, they will most certainly pick the 1st round talent.

Right. I'd rather have Weeden (1st round pick) than Romo. What was I thinking?

I just don't think he has the vision or that burst - which a lot of people criticized Murray of not having. Yet they defend this guy as if there is no tomorrow and find ways to bash Murray at every single moment. How strange.

I just don't think we've seen enough to determine his vision.

Burst maybe.. I thought it was fine.

We had years of Murray to evaluate him. We had 1 half of preseason to evaluate Johnson.

He is being written off because he is a UDFA and that is a no no imo.

My senior year in high school I played RB w/ a 2nd/3rd degree seperation of the AC joint. I got through the season....but I wasn't as effective I could have been w/o the injury. Taking shot after shot @ practice doesn't let the injury heal. He's done. Time to keep scraping the bottom of the barrel. LOL......All of this could have been solved by taking Ajayi in th 5th round:rolleyes:

Ajayi may be available next month.

Nothing but negative reports, like I predicted, coming out of Miami.

I'm not that worried atm. I'm sure if we don't have a lot of faith in our top 2 RBS we'll do something about it. We can also wait for cuts to happen and a team with good RB depth to let one of their guy go. I'm looking at the Bills with Bryce Brown or Karlos Williams. I'd say that's a better option than waiting for a udfa from SFA to impress.

There is a difference when you have a veteran player that has produced and training camp is primarily for getting ready for the regular season without getting injuries. What we have is players who should be trying to win a starting running back job on Americas Team where it seems that every back wants to play.
Are you not concerned about the RB position? Talent, health, ect?

I'll tell you if I'm concerned after next week's preseason game.

Not writing him off because his an UDFA. I'm just not sold on him and anyone of our current stock of runningbacks so far. I think he needs one year in the PS. However, he is not the solution to our runningback situation. We need someone that is dependable, that can block and that is a workhorse similar to what Murray was last year. He doesn't have to be exactly like Murray but just enough to get some kind of production out of him. I'm just not sold that Gus Johnson is the guy right now.

So whats your point? We know enough about Weeden and what he can and can't do. We still don't know anything about Melvin Gordon after one preseason game. If you want to pick Gus Johnson as the better prospect thats fine with me. But 32 professional football teams would disagree with you.

Williams is a good option and Brown while talented he's a fumble machine wouldn't touch him with a 10 ft pole.

So just say you doubt all unproven players so we know your stance.

Plus about 10 defunct ones

I've been trying to tell him this. Him and his delusional defenders just won't grasp it.

Your putting words in my mouth that I didn't say. Right now Gus Johnson is not the answer. He's too slow, too new to be useful for anything this year. Quite possibly next year maybe and should go to the practice squad. But we need a runningback that can be productive right now. Gus isn't the answer.

Could have been but not likely now. Optimism in me says I'm waiting to see it play out. He showed something last night. I think he played many snaps including the td after he hurt the shoulder. Watched the game twice. Wish I knew when he thinks he hurt it.... I have my suspicions....

Gus was a perfectly fine answer for pre-season game 1 and camp body.
He may still be seeing as he is considered day to day.
