Guys blaming Romo for last night

Haha. Stat-citer. 3 TDs is a misrepresentation. Someone has to get it in the end zone. Last week Demarco had 2-3 TDs but he only had like 30 rushing yards. This week Romo had 3 TDs but only 104 passing yards. So I don't put too much stock into the 3 TDs, 0 INTs stat line.

Also, the 0 INTs doesn't say much when he only had 104 passing yards in a game where he needed to throw the ball. He's played way too safe this year. I could care less about fewer INTs. At least he got us to the Week 17 elimination game the past 2 years. We'll probably be too far behind Philly by the time we play them this year.

You skimmed over that 55% completion percentage too quickly. Last time I checked, that's awful. But at least he didn't have any INTs. His passer rating probably improved a little last night.

That all being said, the defense was so bad we would have lost even if Romo had a great game. But he didn't. He had a bad game. You can't play bad football the final month of the season when you're fighting for a playoff spot.

So in other words you have NOTHING but your hate for Romo. Typical.

The stupidity of it is just unbelievable. The posters obviously have a I hate Romo agenda and will stop at nothing to further that in their own feeble minds.
The posters in this thread hating on Romo would rather the boys lose then Romo get credit for anything. Undeniable.

Answer this:

Whose fault is the state of the Cowboys? It ain't Tony Romo

It sure is. One playoff win in what... 8 years already!? Insanity. Romo is an alright QB, but he ain't elite. You pay Rodgers, Manning, Brady, etc.. 120 million.. guys who've won Super Bowls, not a guy who has as many playoff wins as Tim Tebow

I just said the defense was so bad it would have lost regardless. I also said in another post that our running game was playing great but we had to abandon our game plan when they started scoring so many points. But I ALSO said that Romo didn't have an impressive game. Why is it so hard for you to admit that Romo had a bad game? I'm putting 100% of the loss on the defense because there's no way ANY team would have won last night with that defensive performance. But I'm also not giving Romo any credit for having a good game.

Foolish is saying that you don't expect Romo to perform at the same level as McUnknown. His offense didn't allow the Cowboys' defense to stop a drive. He isn't making any excuses today. He performed consistently. Romo didn't. Bears offense looked like it knew what it was doing. Cowboys offense looked like it didn't know what it was doing for the most part. Romo leads that offense.

Stopped there. Ignored list gained hands down.

Witten drop before the end of the 1st half hurt. We did not know at the time our margin for error would be that slim. But it is what it is. Bears did not drop passes. Bears journeyman QB was accurate. Bears play caller had guys wide open all day. So of course our defense stunk. But this offense has been togehter for years AND is healthy. So we should game plan to score 50. If in the process we score 35...then great. But you cannot GAMEPLAN to to score 24 points. What proof has this defense given you that they can hold up?

What proof have we seen that a Dallas offense can score 50 points away from home??????????????

No turnovers. 55% Completion rate and 3 TDs. There are a whole lot of QBs in the NFL that would be VERY HAPPY and their teams EVEN HAPPIER with those kinds of numbers.

the yardage number was bad but as much as it pains me to admit, you are correct, 3 TD passes and no turnovers is usually a good day

Personally, I like Romo. The ever growing list of excuses for him is getting tiresome. He clearly is not the same player that he was a few years ago. The excitement is all but gone, the creativity doesnt exist. I think both he and Garrett are to blame. Garrett for his ridiculous New England pipe dream and getting Romo killed early in his career, and Tony seems like he might be getting complacent with his massive success in his personal life.

I am sure one of the fantasy football stat worshippers will come in here and tell me this is the best season ever or something equally ridiculous.

As one of the most respected posters here, I'm surprise you even considered that troll.......I know it's Christmas time and even him deserved few words.

FACT is he threw 3 TDs with NO picks. You hate the fact that he did not have a pick, right? When we were down you were praying for a Romo pick just so you could talk about it the next day.

we dont know if he was going to throw a pick or not. he was benched after getting blown out and not being able to do anything when the game was competitive.

3 TDs is 3 TDs. I didn't know you only counted those when the game is close.

well since the second we tied it, the Bears took the ball down the field to take the lead so he never had a chance for that TD when tied at 14.

Agreed. The Defense killed our offensive game plan, we were running it down their throats, Romo looked fantastic last night besides the high throw to Dez. The Witten and T. Williams drops before the half hurt. We could have tied that game had we got into FG range, instead they extended their lead to 10. MAJOR turning point.

It appears the D is the worst in Dallas's history and the worst D in the league. It might not be that bad but don't tell the Bears and the Saints.
However, it appears that most want to give Romo a pass because his passer rating is 109. He has to take his share of the blame.

He had the opportunity to tie the ball game for half time. He got the ball with 1.27 minutes left with two time outs. He wasn't the lone culprit by any means. Witten dropped a ball, but if they had made a first down and scored a field goal it would have been a tied ball game at the half. They didn't run any time off the clock and the Bears had time to score another TD and led by 10 points at half time. The D was horrible but the O wasn't horrible - just bad. Murray was the only person that stood out in my mind, and the Oline did a good job run blocking.

Pour out your kool aid. We have some major problems from the coaching ranks on down. We need coaches and players that can/will win in spite of Jerry. I realize the Jerry koolaid drinkers will come to his rescue, but this franchise is in a mess. No one is or should be exempt from blame.

Not watching TV this morning so I ask...is someone actually blaming Romo for that mess?

No.

A lot of criticism for the defense and Jerry Jones today.

Most saying the defense lacks talent and that's Jerry's fault.

Bad day for Jerry in the media today...but they are talking about him...so maybe he's cool with it.

No one on this site quotes Romo stats and defends him more than I do. With that said he stunk last night. If he played great it probably wouldn't have been good enough to win with the our Defensive no-show, but we will never know.

I know you defend Romo a lot here and post his stats all the time, but I can't tell you how refreshing this post was from you. Thanks for being a realist about the performance you saw out there. If the guy plays well he should get praised, if he plays bad he deserves to be called out (Regardless of how the defense played). If your offense is putting up more points, there is no telling how it would motivate all the players around you.

Unless it is against our defense, what team in the entire NFL can score 50 on the road?
I'd be surprised if anyone has this season other than one Denver game.
