Well if Nate really is that good, to be able to definitively discern which players or collection of players & coaches have what it takes to win championships, then surely some ownership group is going to snatch the guy up and put that expertise to work.
I won't hold my breath.
Seriously, I'm not trying to diss Nate at all. But some folks (IMO
) are way overanalyzing some of this and acting like they can definitively tell who has the stuff of champions and who doesn't.
Case in point, what commonality exists over the past 12 years during which Dallas has been o-for-the-playoffs? Not many. From Gailey to Campo to Parcells and now Phillips. Scores of players and assistants have turned over. Jerry & other less visible front office types are the common thread. Problem is, those folks were also here when we won 3 of 4.
We got hammered by injuries, retirements, free agency, the salary cap and some less than stellar head coaching hires along with Jerry's misguided drafting for several years.
But if folks can't see the new era that has begun anew in Dallas since then, then they just don't want to see it.
Is it all perfect now? Of course not. But I'm sick of this garbage about no heart or not practicing the right way or whatever the latest "we didn't do it that way" mantra is.
If its that obvious to some of these former champs then they ought to go make a bundle in Vegas predicting this seasons winners.
I love what some of these guys did for the franchise as players but that doesn't make them the definitive word on discerning champions.
