i have an ideal, maybe you can contact Brad Sham & Mickey Spagnola to contact Jerry Jones and set up Dallas Cowboys Hall of Fame that all current Dallas Cowboys players have to attend and see.

Here goes ideal, know how the commissioner got Michael Irvin to present to all rookies to see the Hall of Fame, how about getting a couple of old dallas cowboy vets like Bob Lily, Roger Staubach, Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin and have a Dallas Cowboys Hall of Fame that all current Dallas Cowboys players must attend, see the histroy, talk to the old vets that had nothing and hardly got paid, for those current Dallas Cowboys players now to see and respect the Dallas Cowboys history and play with pride, passion, heart and desire to be the best.

What do you think? joe

meh...i thinnk if you have to go to a hall of fame to get fired up to play for the dallas cowboys you should not be here in the first place. on top of that if your not fired up about the season going to a hall of fame is not going to get you there. i appreciate the idea and a dallas cowboys muesum could be sweet, but no. i don't think it would work to motivate any players.

They gotta do something with the Ring of Honor when they tear it down, why not make a museum?

Saw Irvin on Espn yesterday showing the rookies around.... he then touched and kiss the Aikman bust/head.... and said "thats my boy, I love that guy..." paraphrasing

I think they should have game tapes of all of the worst Cowboys games; and let the players see how the other teams disrespected the Cowboys.

More important, how pathetic some of the games were played by the players that were involved.

If that doesn't make them want to play, I don't know what to say.

In the early eighties, when I did play highschool ball, I would go to the field with a grudge for the way the Cowboys laid down at times- I couldn't stand it.

How about threaten the team with mass execution if they don't win the Superbowl this year?

I don't think I could stomach another "the best team didn't win the game" speech from Phillips.

What he should have said was the better prepared and better coached team won the game.

I honestly think this team is already pumped up...

Romo should be tons better this year going into his second full season...

T.O. will be giddy about his new extension...

Barber will be happy about OFFICIALLY being the number one and proving he deserves it...

Tank is looking to prove and reassert himself as a solid middle man...

Pacman (or Adam if you prefer) is going through his "re-birth" and has TONS to prove....

Roy is out to prove he really is an all-pro SS (well, if he gets to play that much at least)..

T-New is out to prove he still is the best defender on the 'Boys roster...

and the list goes on and on for why this team is ready for greatness... if they can't do it with the confidence, motivation, and pieces they have in place this season, than we might as well just throw our hands up in final disgust, because it don't get much more laid out than we've got it in '08.

I think that time would be better spent watching game film and forming stratagies. Creating mandatory activities for players could have adverse affects. The Cowboys as a team have to step up near the end of the season, and that has to come from the inside out. Players like Romo, Owens, Thomas and Newman all need to aasume leader roles and motivate people. Wade needs to keep them hungry and not let them gets like the Pats were walking into the Superbowl. Having these players drop by and talk to the team is good, forcing a mandatory meeting might not be.

I like the idea, but with a twist. I think this group of greats should be a "council of elders" that the leaders of the team faces at the end of the year. So if you exit early in the playoffs, you must go before these guys and explain what happened and listen to their feedback.

Can you imagine standing in front of Bob Lilly, Roger Stauback, The Manster, or Irvin and being cavalier about not winning?

I see where your going with this and understand the idea. However, that is what the ring of honor is about and Cowboy history can be told to the rookies without actually having a building dedicated to the Cowboys.

Jerry could bring in guys like Randy White, Staubach, Dorsett, Aikman, Irvin, Emmitt, etc. to talk about what it means to be a Cowboy and show old highlights, trophies and super bowl rings.

A bonus side effect to that could be stories that would explain to today's generation why we hate the Commanders, Eagles and Giants. Give the history to those rivalries and the meaning behind each and every divisional game.

Sometimes I think the new guys don't have a clue what it means to go play in DC (except for it being a divisional game). We need some more funeral wreaths and knockout punches. :D

Speaking for myself, I would like to have a Dallas Hall of Fame, I just don't think they're going to ever do it.

I do hope that Jerry brings some of the old guys in to explain what it means to be a Cowboy and how to hate the Skins, Birds and Gnats.

Not a terrible idea. If these players have any character and pride at all, it would hurt like heck to go to the old Cowboys who have multiple super bowl rings and tell them why you weren't ready to play.

I REALLY wish Jerry would look into doing something like that or what I mentioned with the old players.

Jerrah could pay the former ROH players like a business pays board of directors for guidance and wisdom. Jerry could be the chairman of the board and the ROH players the body. They could meet periodically to review strategy and discuss issues facing the team. Then at the end of the season meet with the coach, player leaders, and anyone that should be on the "hotseat" due to non performance in the big game(s).

The feedback from great players like this could be very valuable. It probably happens in a more informal way today, but I think a council like this would be a good PR thing for the team. And it would add a little heat and accountability at the end of the season.:)

thanks guys for the great comments, i sent the ideal and some of your great comments onto a friend of mine, to see what he thinks. Maybe to get this ideal working in near future. Then, if he thinks its a great ideal to get it forward to jerry jones and the cowboys, along with some senior dallas cowboys players. joe

If it works... I want full credit for the ideas.

If it doesn't... then tell them Disturbed came up with the concept. :D
