We signed a probowl LT (Flo), we tendered a probowl FS (Hamlin), we tendered a probowl RB (Barber), and this is after signing a 7-time probowl LB last week (Zach).
And we still are the only team in the NFL with 2 first round picks!!!!
I'm right with you Beast.
There is not a doubt in my mind that the Cowboys should have won the Super Bowl last season.
The players and the talent is already here on this team for this to happen. Dallas just simply blew it against the Giants. There is just no other way of saying it.
THE KEY to consistently stay at or near the top each year is to hit on the draft.
Despite the occasional "oops" that happens to every team every year,
Dallas has had very good production from at least three players in each of the last six draft classes (going back to 2002). These players may not be All Pros, but they all have played key role, one way or another, that has made the Cowboys a legitimate contender the last couple of seasons.
The last six drafts (2002-2007) have been light years better (and I mean LIGHT YEARS!) better than the garbage the Cowboys were drafting from 1994 through 2001 (except for Allen, Godfrey, Coakley, Ellis and Adams of course).
So the key positions really need to be hit on IN THE DRAFT, so that Jerry doesn't have to go out and spend $50,000,000 plus for an Assante Samuel (or 49 million for Leonard Davis).
Resigning guys like Ratliff, Romo, Adams, and Crayton actually saved Dallas a ton of cap dollars.
So for those sweating free agency, I tend to think you are getting worked up over nothing.
