NFL Network come with the more basic packages in Directv. Pay 10 bucks more and get NFL Network plus other channels in HD. Get ESPN in HD.

That isn't my standard response.

You can do nothing and continue to receive the same amount of programming for free that you always have.

A choice of 2 games at noon. A headliner at 3, Sunday Night Football at 7:30. All for the total price of zero dollars.

You can also pay extra to receive Sunday night's game if you choose (and can afford it.....and is available to you)

Those in rural areas missed out on that extra cable game for quite some time before Satellite service became available. Funny how I never heard them complaining about getting screwed.

And now the NFL is attempting to televise an additional free game (and build their network). As a football fan I already know which side I'm on.

I already pay for the Sunday Ticket. I would pay a modest fee for the NFL Channel even if tape delayed preseason games were all it offered. I'm glad I don't have to though and I benefit from the fight the NFL is waging on my behalf. Out of all the crap that is included in basic service, this is the one channel I do want and I'm glad the NFL is demanding it be a part of basic service. A channel that is capable of broadcasting games of such magnitude as this Thursday's game deserve to be part of regular broadcasting anyway.

I'm not buying the cable part of this arguement.
When my cable switched from Cox Communications to Suddenlink I lost 2 channels(Turner Classic Movies and The Golf Channel) and my cost went up about 2 bucks.
I didn't understand the concept of losing 2 channels and seeing the cost of my monthly bill going up. But when I called to complain I got sent to a 1-800 number with automated replies to express my complaints. Suddenlink didn't even have a local number to call for the first 2 months after the change. That told me one thing...the cable company could care less about it's subscribers. If the cable companies are so concerned about a price hike for the NFL network then they should be honest and tell you how much the ESPN channels costs to have on it's extended basic package. That makes up the majority of your cost for that package.
I had cable for years and I steadily saw the rates go up and up...I hope the NFL wins this and wins it big.
BTW...I switched to AT&T Dish package and I will never go back to cable...my bill is cheaper this way so why would I.
