JIM ZORN: I FEEL LIKE WORST COACH IN AMERICA
Posted by Josh Alper on December 15, 2008, 1:44 p.m.
In the wake of five losses in the last six games, Commanders coach Jim Zorn addressed the media today and pointed the finger squarely at himself for the team’s shortcomings.
“It hurts. I feel like the worst coach in America. [The players] risk a lot. They put out tremendous effort, tremendous emotion to go out and play. We can win some of these games. I have a hard time looking at the talent and just saying that’s [the problem] and moving on … I have to look at myself. It’s all about me. I need to check my plan of attack and my staff, we need to reevaluate. ”
That’s a sharp turnaround from reports last week that painted Zorn as the type of coach who pats himself on the back after wins and points fingers at players after losses. Well, the post-loss part of it, anyway. Zorn specifically mentioned the scripting of the game’s first 15 plays as something that needs to be looked at. The Commanders have been outscored 38-0 in the first quarters of the last three games.
Zorn also said that he is still in the loop with ownership and management, and isn’t concerned with his job status when his first year as Commanders coach finishes in two weeks.
I know we need to stick with the Cowboys posting but I had to post this. This should make Cowboy fans that much more happy.
