I wouldn't let Charles Haley anywhere near my team. He's crazy as a loon.

And I'll never understand why Jerry put him in the Ring of Honor. He basically went into the Hall of Fame as a 49er, and he's in the Ring of Honor?

He was the missing link between an 11-5 team that got humiliated and emasculated in the playoffs and a 3 time Super Bowl Champion.

Yes he was. But he won Super Bowls in San Francisco, too, and was introduced into the Hall of Fame by Eddie DeBartolo.

Meanwhile, Harvey Martin is not in.

No word yet on if any blood was shed or limbs were lost.

Charles Haley was a Hall of Fame pass rusher who had a reputation for crossing the line at times from fiery competitor to crazy person. So maybe he’s the man to get through to Greg Hardy.

Haley and Hardy had a sit-down at the Cowboys’ facility, the Dallas Morning News reports. It was a closed-door meeting and neither man has talked to the media about what was said, but the two reportedly embraced after their 20-minute talk and agreed that they’d get together again.

Hardy is one of the best pass rushers in the NFL, but he was sidelined for 15 games last year and four games this year over a domestic violence accusation, and on Sunday he had a sideline confrontation with an assistant coach, followed by a run-in with teammate Dez Bryant. The Cowboys have stood by Hardy as some on the outside have questioned whether he’s more trouble than he’s worth.

In retirement, Haley has often volunteered to talk to talented but troubled players like himself, and he has spent plenty of time around the Cowboys’ facility. Getting Hardy in line would be Haley’s greatest accomplishment since his playing days.

Wonder who called in Haley? Might be a better approach than the fines and/or suspensions the league summarily hands out.

Haley probably said Hardy shouldn't stop with getting on to the ST coach. Haley in his odd lispy voice "I'd kick all those coaches arse and all the young players need a whupping too".

You want to discipline players by getting a stern talking to from former players?

No.

But you do want the defense to get a backbone.

Frankly..

Marinelli has not really done much this year with this defense.

Its really very soft and is no where it should be given all the top draft picks and FA signings.

When we failed to resign Murray and choose instead to spend the money on defense..

I expected a lot more.

Obviously I over-expected.

We fixed the pass rush. Clearly, but the secondary is still awful. You can't fix everything in one offseason. Mo is playing well and Byron clearly looks to be the future at FS, but they have three major liabilities in Church, Wilcox, and Carr. Carr can't handle inside breaking routes. Church can't tackle in space. Wilcox can't defend the deep half of the field.

No, but how about reaching out to players showing signs of impending trouble.before they do something disastrous? Seems like that was what was done here.
