This trade may have some value to Cowboys fans. With the Falcons having an additional second round pick, 3 total in the second round the quiet rumblings that the Falcons who may be interested in trading back into round 1 for a QB if they fail to take Matt Ryan could be becoming more of a possibility. The Cowboys are sitting pretty at 22 and 28, just about where someone might make a move up for Henne or Flacco and maybe Brohm should he see a Brady Quinn like slide.

I know a few mocks ago Hostile made a blurb in one of his mocks that he had a reason to believe the Falcons and Cowboys may work a trade with Atl moving up for a QB. From people I have spoken with there seems to be more then 1 person for one reason or another also feel that way.

Just food for thought.........:starspin

If we get a top cb at #22 I'm all for trading down with #28

It should also push the pick needed to get pacman down to the 5th or 6th.

Good point.

Also, just as a side note, trading our 28 pick and our second rounder, number 61, with the Falcons for numberrs 37 and 48 makes an almost perfect trade according to the trade value chart, with it only being off by 2 points in the Falcons favor, not ours.

So, what would you guys rather have, picks 22, 28 and 61, or picks number 22, 37 and 48? I guess it all depends on whether or not we can land a top CB with 22, huh.

Maybe Fabian Washington, the Raiders' third corner, comes into play now in a trade possibility with the Cowboys.

How has NFL career gone so far?

He looked like a good prospect coming out of college.

He's been a starter there for multiple seasons. I think he improved his man coverage abilities in recent year's.

would you guys do a similar trade with atlanta as we did last year with cleveland? i would think that atlanta wont be very good next year and we could get a high pick out of it

This was my first thought as well when I heard of the trade.

Atlanta now has #34 and #37 in the 2nd round.

Teams after 22 are the Steelers, Titans, Seahawks, Jaguars, and Chargers. None would be thinking Q IMO.

Then us at 28.

After us, the 49ers; doubt they would look QB, unless someone they really covet is there. They have a high 2nd round pick they could use as well.

Packers? Yeah, they might. They just lost the guy they've relied on for years and the guy they are turning it over too gets hurt if you sneeze on him.

Giants, doubt it.

Round 2.

Dolphins at 32? If they don't take Matt Ryan with the 1st pick absolutely they might look QB.

Rams at 33, doubt it.

So the Falcons may want to get in front of the Packers or Dolphins to grab a QB.

The Draft just got a lot more interesting to me, and CB at 22 just became a certainty IMO.

sorry, dont see how the Falcons trading Hall to the Raiders makes it a certainty we draft a CB at 22...

the first pick could easily still be a WR, or hopefully a trade up for a better player

we already have Alan Ball to man the 4th or 5th CB spot, no reason to add another 4th/5th CB via a trade for a guy that clearly has been a bust

Because WRs and RBs in round 2 is a better value than a CB in round 2.

in your opinion maybe

there are 2 or 3 CB's that stand above the rest, afterward 6-8-10 who are all nearly the same...we arnt getting one of those top 2 or 3 at 22, so IMO if they are gone taking a CB at 22 is overdrafting someone for need, and that is almost always bad

It's alot easier IMO to see us getting a CB who can contribute right away in the 2nd as opposed to a WR in the 2nd...

RB I agre with, in fact there's only one RB IMO worth us taking in the first rd, and thats the guy we have to mvoe way up for...otherwise take one in the 2nd, 3rd or even 4th rd to backup Barber

at the end of the day though I do think you'll see them move up, whether its into the top 6-8 for McFadden, or maybe 5-6 spots to insure they get a top CB or WR

LOL

It's not just my opinion David. How many drafts do you want to research and see the numbers on CB vs. WR and RB in round 1? I'll gladly do the research. Just tell me how many years you want me to go back and study. Teams wait on RB and WR in round 1 and they grab CBs. That's been going on forever.

Come on.

2007, 4 CBs in round 1. Revis, Hall, Griffin, & Ross. Griffin may have played Safety at Texas but he was a CB for the Titans. I wonder how many others are missed? Doesn't matter. I really don't care. It can't be argued that teams need 3 CBs but it can that they need 3 WRs?

Color me skeptical of that logic.

Have it your way though, NFL teams do not value CBs in round 1 over WRs.

You win.
