I completely agree w/this, and I believe Hamlin does too (his emphasis on execution being the problem, not the coaching or individual players). Although it would have been nice for Hamlin to have provided an honest evaluation of his own individual performance FIRST (the secondary as a whole couldn't BUY a turnover, but as much as that is highlighted in the media, the true problem in the secondary was the miserable run support IMO) before commenting on anyone else.


And even as articulate as Hamlin obviously was, he was still led/steered into making this comment (by the way, I did not hear Hamlin say what was quoted in the title).


I still say, the Cowboys should either limit their comments to simple one sentence answers (for the more media savvy) or boycott the media entirely (for the less media savvy). I think they should make this commitment as a team, that way the focus is on the team instead of on the media gadflys.

Then that quote should have been present in the video. It wasn't.

He said, "Yeah, he has to be a vocal leader" as part of his response to a Rome question. He also implied that he's been this type of leader in the past, and "especially this offseason."

He NEVER said Romo "needs to be more vocal".

Had he said THAT, it would imply that Romo currently is not vocal enough. But in fact, Hamlin said just the opposite.

Hey, the guy who prepares the meal gets to use as much seasoning as he likes. The people eating it don't have to all like it, and they don't have to keep coming back.

It'd be nice if the chef didn't curl up into a ball and thumb-suck whenever somebody suggests something is too salty, though.

dcfanatic does a great job uniformly with finding and making videos available. And his commentary is often interesting. He brings it pretty aggressively in debates, which is also cool. He's become a real asset to the board, and it's a shame he'd consider leaving just because of negative attention.

The operative word was "more". You falsely included "more" in your title, which implies that Hamlin believes that Romo currently isn't as vocal as he needs to be.

Watch the clip again and tell me if Hamlin is meaning to imply that Romo is not currently as vocal as he needs to be.

The question from Rome was something along the lines of, "Does the QB have to be a vocal leader?"

To which Hamlin replied that the QB DOES have to be a vocal leader. But he never implied that that's not what Romo currently is.

It was a minor, contructive piece of criticism. Which you couldn't handle.
