Happy 30th anniversary of our last title

Mr. Holland's Opus was number one at the movie box office.

Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men's One Sweet Day was the #1 song on the U.S. Billboard charts.

NBC's ER was the number one series on network television.

The Chicago Bulls were 38-3 on their way to their fourth NBA championship.

Satan exercised the permanent soul clause in Jerry Jones' contract.

Friends the TV show was just starting out and now that cast is pushing 60, like me. Those were really the good ol days and not even a NFC championship appearence to at least brag that the Boys were close.

What is really crazy is that team had been so good in prior years that the 95 team seemed like a tired team and still won it all, but in hindsight it was clear the era was ending. Never thought the Jerry virus would last 30 years and counting.

We won Super Bowl XXX

Super Bowl XXX was XXX years ago

The circle is now complete

Championship!

Jerry's probably got his Netflix special playing non-stop today while he chills with a couple bottles of JWB.

What are we all talking about? A "drought", as Stephen calls it?

Thirty years. My lord. I was 17 years old and thought the Cowboys would be dominant for so long. Now I am 47 and wondering if I will even see another deep playoff run.
I was 17 too! Like you I thought we'd win many more Super Bowls in the near future. Man was I wrong lol!

I was 30 Yeats old. I didn't enjoy the game. We were totally outplayed by Pittsburgh after the 1st quarter and all I could do was look at the clock.lol If I knew then what I know now I would have enjoyed it more.

30 years ago Rockport was sending strongly worded letters in support of the team

Jerry was only like 95 back then.

He'd only cheated on his wife with prostitoots like 40 or 50 times way back then.

That SB was closer to the Apollo moon landing and Woodstock than where we are in time right now.

America was only 220 years old back then.

A mere 130 years from when the Civil War ended.

The old classic film Braveheart wasn't a classic back then...it was just coming out in movie theaters.

And on VHS tapes.

Jean shorts were popular back then (no offense Rockport, I know they're still a staple of your wardrobe)
.
Sheesh.

So long ago.

Good news is there are some teams without a SB appearance.

While we certainly can hold Jethro responsible for our drought we can still be thankful with our history prior and with Jimmy’s built team.

As frustrating as this drought this era has been there are many franchises with much less success. And despite no appearances in a SB in 30 years we are currently still only 1 SB win behind Steelers and Pats with 6.

Truly remarkable. And illustrates just how glorious our previous eras have stood the test of time.

One year ago yesterday.

My oldest son that was born the year they won the 1992 Super Bowl now he has a son that is 6 years old.

My youngest son 19 has never seen the Jonesboys in win a Divisional Playoff game. He has seen the Seahawks get to the Super Bowl with Russell Wilson and Sam Darnold.

8 more years it will be 2 generations that have never seen the Arlington Jonesboys win a divisional playoff game.
