Getting a chance to play in the AFC championship game must be a big thrill for them.

I don't think anyone questioned their heart when they were here. They always seemed like class guys.

Congrats to both of them for turning it around in Denver.

I agree, Tony. My thoughts were the same watching them play last weekend.

Funny how these two guys can perform well on an AFC Championship caliber team ... yet went unwanted on a 5-10 team.

Very odd.

Its called creating pressure from all over the field and having an attacking philosophy. Also helps to have John Lynch who understands that in order to get to the QB, you avoid the people trying to block you, versus our philosophy of sending blitzers into the heart of the protection...

Its just a prime example that coaching and scheme is just as important as talent level. There is an arguement that its more important. There was never a doubt that those guys had talent, they just couldn't put up numbers in our POS read and react scheme. Guess what, most players won't either regardless of their talent. I have no doubt that Ware would have had 12 to 14 sacks in another scheme that just allowed him to attack the QB. Our biggest problem is Zimmer's conservative defense. He's playings the 3-4 with a 4-3 mindset. Hopefully that was because we didn't have the personnel to play an attacking style. I hope with a few more additions they will start to play a more attacking stlye of defense but I'm not holding my breath.

Ekuban had 27 tackles (0 for a loss) and 4 sacks this year. BFD.

Canty as a rookie playing in a rotation had 36 tackles, 2.5 sacks and 4.5 tackles for a loss. As a 3-4 DE no less.

This would actually be a prime example of exactly nothing.
