My honest opinion is that guys like Hardy are genetically warriors in the purest sense. In pre-modern times, guys like Hardy (physical specimens with a freakish combination of size, strength, athletic ability, and ferocity) wielded great power and led their people in battle. They were heroes, and they were BRUTAL. Where do guys like that go now? Well, Mike Tyson boxed, The Spider fought MMA, Arnold lifted weights, but most of those guys in the U.S. end up playing in the NFL, which is a brutal sport. To expect them to act like normal people - I don't think it's realistic. Guys like Hardy, Ray Lewis, Lawrence Taylor, Jack Youngblood, Dick Butkus, and Eric Williams (who I think was possibly the most dominant OL ever pre-injury) are warriors in the truest sense. They ain't like the rest of us.
