14He’s 20 months post injury I believe.

I agree…no reason to lie about something that would be fairly easy to confirm. He didn't participate at the Combine along with many other players. Maybe the Raiders shouldn't draft Mendoza then.
He was interviewed at the Combine and he said he was medically cleared and was practicing at the end of the season trying to play in games but ultimately decided not to.
So why are the Cowboys out on him? A few others have conceded that the reporter has meritI agree…no reason to lie about something that would be fairly easy to confirm.
The Vol’s pro day is 3/31. Is it really a big deal that he is testing a month after the combine? He actually returned to practice with the Vol’s last Aug. for individual drills without a brace…7 months post surgery. Not a rumor…there is film.
I think they just don’t want anything similar to Revel. So why are the Cowboys out on him? A few others have conceded that the reporter has merit
Have the Cowboys said they are out on him or is that a conclusion from this board or reporters reading into things? So why are the Cowboys out on him? A few others have conceded that the reporter has merit
Nick Harris reported it and other beat writers have suggested he’s probably not wrong.Have the Cowboys said they are out on him or is that a conclusion from this board or reporters reading into things?
If he is cleared today, how would he be considered a redshirt player? I consider a redshirt player one who’s participation will be delayed. Is that the case with McCoy?
Or one could also assume Harris made the same leap that many here did. Do you think McCoy fits the redshirt definition?Nick Harris reported it and other beat writers have suggested he’s probably not wrong.
One can only assume that it’s either character or health related
Do you believe that before they have even checked him out or have seen him workout? On the draft show they said no McCoy round 1 because it could be at least a partial medical red shirt year.
Yes bc that’s what reporters do. They jump to conclusions based off no information. Good idea.Or one could also assume Harris made the same leap that many here did. Do you think McCoy fits the redshirt definition?
Harris said “one name I’m crossing off based on information this week”. He didn’t say Dallas was crossing him off. He said HE was crossing him off. And what information did we hear? We heard Jerry doesn’t want redshirt players. He wants players that can contribute immediately (unlike Revel).
Are we suggesting McCoy won’t be able to contribute immediately? If he is completely cleared, does he still fit what Jerry was saying about contributing?
I don’t know whether he is under consideration or not. But if he kills his pro day in a few weeks and his knee checks out, he should be. IMO, Dallas did not tell Harris in February that McCoy is not a consideration.
Did you not see where he said “he” was crossing him off. Why not just say Dallas is crossing him off?Yes bc that’s what reporters do. They jump to conclusions based off no information. Good idea.
They are the guys on the draft show. In particular Nick Harris is as plugged into the Cowboys as anybody. Belt too. They all felt that way but you think whatever you want. Do I think McCoy ends up a Cowboy? No not unless he falls to round 2 and they get a pick there. Watch the draft show and reach your own conclusion.Do you believe that before they have even checked him out or have seen him workout?
When you say they, are you referring to the Cowboys…who is they?
Do you honestly believe Dallas has said that in February, weeks before his workouts?
This is just people reading whatever they want into stupid Jerry comments IMO.
Because that’s how reporters operateDid you not see where he said “he” was crossing him off. Why not just say Dallas is crossing him off?
So you think the Cowboys told Harris in February that McCoy wasn’t under consideration for either the #12 or #20 pick?Because that’s how reporters operate
How could they possibly know he could be a partial medical redshirt 13 months post surgery and 7 months before the season begins with no news of any setbacks? It seems his doctors disagree as he supposedly is cleared with no limitations. He claims he was cleared and could have played at the end of last season. On the draft show they said no McCoy round 1 because it could be at least a partial medical red shirt year.
Is McCoy your cousin? LololHow could they possibly know he could be a partial medical redshirt 13 months post surgery and 7 months before the season begins with no news of any setbacks? It seems his doctors disagree as he supposedly is cleared with no limitations. He claims he was cleared and could have played at the end of last season.
And why would the Cowboys tell a reporter, who then tells the world, that he is off their board? If true, what could possibly be the benefit of sharing that info prior to the draft?
Revel’s knee injury happened ~3.5 months before McCoy’s, he had a setback, and still played his first game ~14 months later. McCoy will be ~20 months post surgery when the season starts.
I’m not saying draft him (though I would at #20). But I don’t think he fits the redshirt criteria unless Jerry is confused about what redshirt means.
Do you recall who on the draft show said this?On the draft show they said no McCoy round 1 because it could be at least a partial medical red shirt year.
I heard on the fan this morning on a conversation with Harris and Belt that the cowboys are not wanting any redshirt players right now. They are in win now and need those players to contribute right away and not a year down the road or later. Not sure if this is McCoy or not. some of this discussion was centered around an injury that down has. and McCoy is mentionedHave the Cowboys said they are out on him or is that a conclusion from this board or reporters reading into things?
