Whoa. That is pretty harsh.
He's just a kid. Fun-loving and wild at times and it makes him rough around the edges. But, again, he's just a kid. He will grow out of it.

Like you were so perfect when you were in your early 20s and pulling down millions.

May be harsh, but true... He is playing professional football for money, so he needs to be professional. Making excuses does not do him any favors.

But the premise of his point is right. The ONLY way the Cowboys would want to trade this guy is if he IS an absolute punk. That's not to say he is a punk, because he very well might not be. But if he were traded, well...

Because clearly, we wouldn't get in return what we would perceive to be his value, especially one season after drafting him. I doubt there'd be a team eager to give up a first round pick for him.

The Fasano trade was different in that he was an inherited player for Garrett. Fasano didn't do what he wanted from the tight end position, so he happily dished him out for a lower pick than what it took to draft him.

But Bennett? This wouldn't be a "fit" issue.

Obviously, I doubt this rumor has legs. But again, if it does, the above poster's premise has to be correct.

Id trade Bennett in a heartbeat for their 1st and 2nd this year and their 1st next year.

BTW, I know my demands are a bit much.....but if they want one of our brightest offensive prospects so badly, they will succumb to our demands.

Not a chance. They have Todd Heap and they love the guy.

You are actually 100% incorrect on this one Hos. Baltimore is looking for a blocking TE, and they are apparently less than impressed with Heaps blocking abilities. This is according to Harbaugh apparently.

Now are they interested in Bennett? I dont know. We do know that Bennett is a great blocker and receiver though, so the rumor does not surprise me.

Can't see this being anything he was a 2nd rounder last year and has shown potential so anything less then a 1st wouldn't happen and he really hasn't done anything yet to warrant a 1st

I don't know..Getting Martellus is like picking him in the first round. He's only 21 and unproven like a rookie would be. This TE class is very weak..

only way i see this happening is if the ravens give up their 1st, which i doubt. then if the cowboys got the first, they had a deal in place with the cardinals for Q. and... the cowboys have enough confidence in rodney hannah to be the second tightend.

all of these scenarios are very very far fetched.

Heap's blocking issues might not have been a large one before he developed catching issues as well as injury issues.

So the question is Martellus Bennett worth the Ravens 1st.

lol, why not.

Hypothetically speaking, say a late 1st isn't out of the question but who would be there for the Ravens choice.

Might actually pull the trigger on a deal like that for a WR Darrius Hayward-Bey or a legit Left Tackle.

They have a really low first though, right?

I have even heard things as far as the Ravens trading a possible pick to Dallas for TE Martellus Bennett. This is from si.com

This is b/s. It's not reported by SI, its in a forum section where anyone can reply, and some poster threw that out there.

They may love the guy, but he isn't what he used to be in the form of an all-pro TE. He is more close to a an oft-injured occasional receiving threat.

Don't get me confused though, I don't think the Boys would be trading Bennett unless it was a first or second round pick this year.

Heap finished? pass that thing this way.... Heap is far from done he was hurt last year and a half, but now he is injury prone..don't think so. The only reason he is not used more in the passing game is because Cameron wants him to be Gates and that is not his style. Heap is a beast and is a top 5 TE in the league. flame all you want, but if you don't know the organization don't speculate on what the coaches think of him.....rant off.

now as far as them wanting Bennett it would have to be multiple picks including their 1st. If they were to trade Bennett there is no other place I would rather see him go than the Ravens..;)

He hasn't been the same ever since Porter roughed him up. Lots of injury issues.

;)

20 games played & 58 catches over the last 2 years, with 4 TDs. Don't think so. He used to be a top 5 TE. He hasn't been for at least 2 years.
