I am hoping that some rational thought is finally leaking through from all the knee jerks and other over reactions.

Funny how that works. When we win we are SB bound and when we lose the season is over and yet we are told by some they are not over reacting? :laugh2:

Yes this wasn't just a loss. This was a beat down at home.

Counts the same as 1 loss. They do not tag you with an additional loss because it was at home or because you got blown out. No doubt it was painful to watch but in the end it is still 1 loss and this team will still have a lot to say about their own future.

The loss honestly does not bother me that much. We are still in excellent position for the playoffs, even though there is a good chance we possibly just blew any chance for a first round bye and home playoff game out the window.

What bothers me is the defense. This was supposed to be our bread and butter this year. This is what Parcells has been focusing on during our rebuilding years.

I can not think of an eloquent way to say how underwhelming this defense is. I know there is a great debate on the board in regards to Zimmer versus the players.

I for one pray that it is all on Zimmer so that way we are just a coordinator away from having a good defense as opposed to having wasted years of draft picks and free agent dollars on defense.

Can you name the last team to win the Superbowl who was beat down in December at home?

I think I may still have a fireball left to come out of the eyes and maybe a lightning bolt or two still waiting to fly out my arse.
I think they will get out sometime today and I should feel better.

I don't spend much time looking at that. Dallas lost and if we go out and get back to winning then we have a chance. What took place last year or any other years has absolutely nothing to do with anything it is a meaningless stat. There was a stupid stat back in the 90’s that said no team who lost their 1st 2 games went on to win a SB? Guess what we did just that so this garbage about what team lost in dec at home and went on to a SB is as meaningless. I don't think Dallas played as well as they could and I think the Saints did everything right and thus won in a convincing way but in the end it is one game and not worth players giving up on themselves. Now fans on the other hand can do what they want after all many will holler SB after a win and claim the season is done when we lose a game so I don't put much into a bunch of over reactive fans when I see this same crud every single week from many posters.

Hey, I haven't jumped off yet. We're going to the Super Bowl - with Romo leading the way.

We played Coach Payton. He's the latest and greatest breed of head coaches - a student of Parcells. And he has a great team of players to coach.

What's the big deal?

Well said.
I am not as upset on this one as much as usual. We still need to win 2 more. I will go over the scenarios later today. Will post them if I get a chance. I just want to get into the playoffs. Even if we don't get the bye. It's obviously our defense needs the practice.

I agree nothing is impossible. Yet some stats are good leading indicators on the probability of an outcome. You must play well in December. Your odds greatly improve with better seeding. Again, nothing is impossible and the Cowboys could go on and win the whole thing. Yet they will be fighting the odds a bit more with that loss last night.

And this franchise has beaten those odds in the past, Pitt beat those odds last year. If this team plays good we have a very good chance to win games and when we play poorly we will not win many games. I'm sorry I don't think this is a bad team I think this is a team who played a bad game against a very good team. I'm not going to hang my head and give up on them and I don't expect this team to give up on themselves. How others feel is up to them

Great teams rise up and go for the kill when it is presented. I'm not sure if this team has learned that yet. The table was set for them last night, the meat was on the table. It wasn't a good time to become a vegetarian.

Exactamundo.

It was an impressive victory by the Saints to say the least and an awfully ugly loss for the Cowboys. That's a given.

But the bottom line is no one is going to award NO the Lombardi trophy for what happened yesterday nor are they going to take away the Cowboy's remaining opportunity to continue chasing after it.

In 2002, Tampa Bay lost 17-7 to Pittsburgh on Monday Night. I know it's only ten points, but Tampa was humiliated in that game and showed no offensive capability at all.

they won the Super Bowl

17 is a far cry from 42. Brad johnson was out in that game and Saun King threw from 73 yrds. Where is King now?

Listen guys, I'm not throwing the towel, I'm just looking at this objectively. the past impacts the future if the team is not mentally tough enough to overcome it. I'm not convinced this team has the mental toughness to get it done. If they did, they would have seen this opportunity and showed up to play yesterday! They need to go out and play like they mean it the next 3 games.

yep.... here's a small list of great players

Brees.... vet QB in a NEW system
Bush.... rookie RB
Colston.... rookie WR
Shanle.... former Second teamer for dallas
Fujita.... Vet LB in a different system
Cundiff...... former kicker CUT by dallas
Stoutmier... how many teams has he played for

The list could go on and on but I'm sick typing it!!!!

I wouldn't call all of them ALL great but they sure stuck it to the Cowboys last night!
