Has the need for pass rusher increased with the EZ injury?

With the injury to our 2nd round pick last year EZ, the need was already evident with the lack of pass rush we couldn't generate in 2025. How big is the need with him gone? We aren't sure about Clowney and if he fits this defense. All we have left to rush the passer at the moment is James Houston. We shouldn't rely on EZ that he'll be 100 percent to start the season. I'm hoping it doesn't linger on all season long.

We must be smart about getting pass rushing help. Seeing these QBs sit back all day and pass on us isn't fun! Please give your thoughts

Nothing gets past you does it Coogie? Yes we need to upgrade the pass rush.

The need for a pass rusher hasn't increase because of Eze. It could because of Clowney however depending on how he does or doesn't fit what CP wants to do.

I’m not sure how you could argue that the need isn’t bigger now, I think it absolutely is.

I don’t think we can expect a big second year jump form Eze now. We may get it, we may not. But we can’t count on him.

Of course a pass rusher was needed anyways, but the need has grown now.

It was already sky-high. EZ is promising, but it's not like we should be counting on him to become a double-digit sack guy next year.

What I seen was he should be ready by TC.
Which means he will start TC on PUP or NFI.

I think they want to bring back Clowney, for the right price. But they will wait to see how FA pans out.

No, he had surgery to repair the injury. They will be adding pass rushers.

Defense pretty much solid. Just missing a piece or two.

It would be nice if they signed the top linebacker in free agency, acquired the Miami safety, and added Crosby in trade or added a top edge in free agency.

I would love to see this happen but if we keep Pickens Im not sure they would go for Crosbys contract.

As much as we need defensive help, the continuous inability to develop a solid #2 receiver has caused us to now have two #1 receivers so the resources may go there.

Crosby is just an elite asset we cant put money toward with so many defensive pieces missing

I don’t think it increases. I think EZE will be back by training camp and ready for the season.

But regardless the cowboys need 2 more edge players (3-4 OLB).

They need another starter and a solid primary rotational player. If they sign Clowney. That’s your rotational player. You then need another starter.

Totally agree, we were expecting him to have a great off season of working out and getting better this will slow this down.

Clowney is a veteran. To me he should be used like DWare was in Denver. Situational: 3rd down or pure passing situations. Max 30% of the defensive snaps.

Clowney shouldnt be used like he was the last season. This will wear him down way to fast.

We need a real pass rusher really bad. Like van Miller was in Denver.

#41 is not a good player. It wont make a big difference wether he will come back or misses some games of the season. We still need a good pass rusher.

Well Philps is not on the market. The Dolphins used their 5th year option. He would have been a choice for me.

Hendrickson is an ok choice. But he is a bit old. I wouldnt hand him a longer contract than 3 years where i can cut him easily after two. 22 mils/a at best.

3 years is the point here. With Dak at the end of his contract in 3 years and possible at the end of his career i would not plan longer than that timespan if id sign a psss rusher thru FA.

Crosby right now would be my choice. His contract is constructed to my favour. If the asking price is aceptable. Idk what players vegas needs. But i would suggest our #12 and williams for Crosby, their 2nd and 3rd rounder.

If so, he is a FA. So that would rule him out.
