Has the need for pass rusher increased with the EZ injury?

With the injury to our 2nd round pick last year EZ, the need was already evident with the lack of pass rush we couldn't generate in 2025. How big is the need with him gone? We aren't sure about Clowney and if he fits this defense. All we have left to rush the passer at the moment is James Houston. We shouldn't rely on EZ that he'll be 100 percent to start the season. I'm hoping it doesn't linger on all season long.

We must be smart about getting pass rushing help. Seeing these QBs sit back all day and pass on us isn't fun! Please give your thoughts
Coog back on the board. Good job.

Why finally get a top notch DT and you want to get rid of him? Heck no!!!
Yes i know. And i expected that answer.

Williams is very good but not top notch anymore. He was Alll Pro/Pro Bowl caliber but diminished in the last two years.

I also see Clark way more important than Williams to the defense. I may be wrong though with Parker taking over DC duties.

Still this is a tough one. But if i had to give away a good player, tell me who else do we got on this team instead of Williams?

What I seen was he should be ready by TC.
Which means he will start TC on PUP or NFI.

I think they want to bring back Clowney, for the right price. But they will wait to see how FA pans out.
Im of the mindset that regardless of what happens with clowney we need to upgrade our pass rush.It wasnt good enough last year. We need some youth inspired energy which is why Im hoping and praying Bain would fall. I doubt he does but let all that small arm chatter from the combine discourage the first 11 teams that draft ahead of us.

I think that Q suffered more from the crap around him the last two years than his abilities. As for the trade, since it’s they Raiders and they need OL help, I would dangle Bass since we don’t need OGs, assuming Smith doesn’t move to LT.

I doubt they will move Smith to LT. He already said he doesnt want to and he is not good there either. We have a real problem at LT.

Williams was diminishing the year before he came to us. He played very well for us and is a big upgrade no doubt. Id like the Raiders to take Bass instead of Williams. But doubt they will fall for that ;-)

The guy from the Eagles that came from Miami

Would you want Sam back?? Could maybe be a decent OLB

Tell your friend to spell my name correctly it's Coogi, say it with me @dupree89 C O O G I!! Big Dag Cowboy needs to get it together or else lol
I am happy when Sam Williams rides into the sunset and i dont have to see him anymore.

Does that answer your question ? ;-)

They already needed starters now they need a little more depth. They'll have some extra bodies in camp, the question is how they handle the roster when he gets back so he can get up to speed physically without hurting himself.

They have no choice but to count on EZE.

You can’t keep blowing very high picks and expect to win.

They have to put him in a key spot and he has to come through. Period.

What worse is he really could've benefited from off season strength and conditioning. He needed it.

Man he just turned 28. I dont think hes washed. I think hes been on crap teams. If I give away any DT its Osa, and thats more so because Clark is needed inside and im assuming we re-work his deal.

That's my biggest thing, now instead of doing that he'll be doing therapy etc trying to get back healthy uhhhh damn

I don't think anything has changed at all for me. Whether he's healthy or not I think we should still be hitting DEnds hard.

..those DE's go 100%, higher percentile of getting hurt because of the speed around the edge.

Well Osa is a good idea. Totally forgot about him. I wonder if that comes from his phenomenal play last season ?! ;-(

Again i dont think Williams is washed. But two years in a row is to me something that has to be monitored and be factored in if you need to give him a new contract.

It would be nice if they signed the top linebacker in free agency, acquired the Miami safety, and added Crosby in trade or added a top edge in free agency.
Man you got it bad...who knew kool-aid was addictive
