Has there been any players in Dallas from the "U" since Irvin?

As for Penn St. players don't forget that Dallas actually drafted Steve Wisnewski in the second round of the 1989 draft and held him for the Raiders who in turn took Daryl Johnston and swapped him to Dallas.

I am trying to think if we got anybody via free agency or drafted anybody from the University of Miami. It's funny how it seems that we stay away from players from certain schools. I think that Irvin was the last one we had on the squad.

Another school we tend to stay away from for some reason is Penn State.Other than Rivera via free agency,I can't remember any players from Penn State on Dallas since 1990.

Could somebody please shed some light that knows someboys history on this matter? Thanks in advance and Go Cowboys, this season has been like christmas for me since the first week!

I thought your question was funny. Not in an insulting way or anything like that. I just remember thinking that Miami players is all that Jimmy Johnson brought in when he became coach of the Cowboys.

Alonzo Highsmith 1990-1991
Michael Irvin 1988-1999 drafted by Landry
Jimmie Jones 1990-1993
Berrnie Kosar 1993
Russell Maryland 1991-1995
Ryan McNeil 2000
Alfredo Roberts 1991-1992
Randy Shannon 1989-1990
Darrin Smith 1993-1996
Daniel Stubbs 1990-1991
Mike Sullivan 1991
Vinny Testaverde 2004
Steve Walsh 1989-1990
Kevin Williams 1993-1996
Robert Bailey 1995
Willie Broughton 1989-1990

Penn State
Richie Anderson 2003-2004
Brandon Noble 1999-2002
Tom Rafferty 1976-1989
Andy Stynchula 1968

LSU players tend to end up as lunchpail types in the NFL, it seems.

While Spears, Peterman, and James aren't highlight reel players, they are starters in the NFL and look like they will be for some time, and that's a pretty big accomplishment. Lafleur was just starting to turn the corner when injuries shortened his career (but I guess we should have known they would - back problems as a senior at LSU).

Skyler Green is the only truly bad draft pick from LSU I can remember for the Cowboys in the last ten years.

There are/were a lot of other talented players from LSU making some noise in the league - Kevin Faulk, Kevin Mawae, Michael Clayton, Dewayne Bowe, Anthony MacFarland, Marquise Hill (rip), Corey Webster, Laron Landry, and Joseph Addai come to mind.

I don't think the problem is LSU, it's the players the Cowboys selected and where. For the record, I think James and Spears are solid players.

I hate the kind of players that Miami produces. Sure, they are talented, but they aren't worth the heartache and trouble.

Look at every revolting "look at me" player in the league. A majority of the scumbags come from Miami.

Yeah, sure... you could field a helluva of a team of just Miami players for one game. But over the course of the season they would all be suspended or the team would implode because they are all trash.

Screw Miami.

Give me more Eastern Illinois players.
