That is the one bad thing about Romo...he really doesn't have that strong of an arm. He can manage if he can get a tight spiral on it, but he doesn't have the strength to throw the wobbly pass any distance.

Look at Eli, he really never throws a tight spiral, but he can chunk a pretty decent deep ball.

But thats what makes this guy so amazing. He doesn't have that rocket arm like Farve, Aikman, and so on...so he's not that great at throwing the out routes or a good deep ball, but he gets by with what he has.

To Romo's credit he plays with EVERYTHING that he was given and plays with heart. I was jealous watching Eli last night throwing wobbly deep balls to Plaxico. So nice. I miss the deep throws in the games. He can make intermediate throws all game long and is super accurate on the run.

No QB can throw a wobbly ball as far(as hard, as deep) as a tight spiral. It is impossible.

Shortest distance between two places is a straight line.

Wobbly ball = left, right,up,down,left, right,up,down,left, right,up,down,left, right,up,down,left, right,up,down,left, right,up,down,left, right,up,down,left, right,up,down,

Tight spiral = errrrrrrrrrrrrrr..... straight.

Wow, thanks for clearing that up for me

What I said..and I thought it was pretty clear. Unlike some (Eli), he can't really get away with throwing a wobbly deep ball.

I like the idea of starting Barber, just for the fact that the defense is fresh in the first quarter. Barber seems to get that fire lit. Need to try something.

Yeah, but with that you also have to have the WR's that go and get the ball. Plax is one of the best at doing that....I guess being 10ft tall helps :)

TO too many times catches the ball with his body...not his hands. Crayton normally is pretty good at going for the ball, but he's not the athlete that Moss or Plax can be.

Yeah Plax is annoying with that freakin bowing. But he is playing like a #1 WR. Wont last though. He could never do it. Why would he now.

I disagree. On numerous occasions I have seen TO snatch balls out of the air, whether they were over his head, behind him or too far out in front of him. He has used his body before(they all do). He needs to concentrate more. He thinks about running before the catch, coupled with "he will drop some anyway) = not good.

Besides... the deep ball... if its out in front of you... you have no choice but to catch it with your hands. His drop against Wash last year was off his fingers.

I'm not sure why people think Romo can't air it out. Romo can throw the deep ball, we've seen it against the Commanders, and I believe it was Giants. He doesn't have a very strong arm, but his arm isn't weak either, if WRs gets open down the field, he can deliver the ball to them.

He doesn't have a canon of an arm but it is plenty strong. When you can zip a ball over 50 yards or throw a crisp pass across your body for over 40 yards you have a pretty strong arm. He is not a deep bombadier but how many quarterbacks truly make a living that way with today's defenses.

I guess that Aikman fellow wasn't a good one?

Huh? Aikman threw quite well down field. And, Aikman doesnt play vs. todays Ds. How about reading.

All the champs is recent SBs have been pocket passers who can toss the ball down field. It erroneous to suggest otherwise.

There were serious questions about Brady's arm strength during their first two runs. Unless you were talking about something else respecting "tossing the ball downfield", it is erroneous to suggest otherwise.
