There's a lot of talk going on between Commanders, Giants, and Cowboys fans taking the NFCE with dominance in 2006.

Cowboys - resurgence to dominance with the acquistion of TO, the two TE strategy, and a few new faces in the DL.

Commanders - Multiple FA acquisitions Randel El topped off with a strong defense, the Skins are looking to dominate.

Giants - Current NFC-East title holders trying to repeat; they have a strong RB with two strong WR ...not to mention a strong defensive squad.

Eagles - Everyone has us slated for another basement ride in 2006; with a weak WR corps, non-existent running attack ...the only thing that we've really regained (according to most posters) is our health.

Somebody is going to eat some serious "crow;" who do you think will eat crow (because we can't all win the NFCE title); and what's your recipe/favorite dish for preparing Crow:

Since the Eagles did so poorly in 205, here are some crow tips ...

1) Crow Fillet Mignons, with baby peas and rice (fried crow option).

2) Harty bowl of crow stew with some fava beans and a nice chianti

Who will indulge ...:)

Not me-- if I turn out to be wrong, I'll just say it's a fluke... having observed Skins fans these last few years, I'll bet I can come up with all KINDS of excuses...

Have you ever had a personal experience in eating crow during any of the previous season ...and what's your favorite crow dish?

An injury to Bledsoe or Owens would put us in a bad position, the same goes for all the teams though(losing your QB)

Ive penciled the ealges in 3rd if that makes you feel better

I agree (mainly from personal Eagles fan experience) that losing a QB and play-maker WR could be detrimental to any team's ability to succeed. However, that's not an absolute formula. But in your case, you have Henson/Romo and you'd still have Terry Glenn. So tell me (prey-tell) how is that a menu for a crow dish?

BTW, it doesn't matter what you or anyone "pencils" the Eagles in at. The Eagles will come to play healthy football and try to remain healthy throughout the year. We don't have the luxury (according to many posters) of trying to retain the top spot ...we merely have to srcatch our way up form the basement and stay healthy.

Terry Glenn is almost guranteed to miss some action, so if were unlucky enough to lose Owens too, wed have Crayton as our #1. Crayton is a solid, tough reciever but no more than a 3 at this point.

Honestly, we could of signed just Vanderjagt and I would expect us to make the playoffs

If crow is served in the District of Columbia, it will have to be fault of the officials. No one there takes the blame for anything.:)

If crow is served in New York, I believe it will be the fgault of Eli Manning.

If crow is served in Philadelphia, I believe it will be the fault of Donovan McNAbb.

And, if crow is served in Dallas it will be the fault of.......Bill Parcells. That dish of crow (if sufficiently large) might well spell the end of the BP era in Dallas.

I'm not saying the blame game is fair mind you but the above are almost inevitable in the media circus that is the NFL today.

No matter what happens this year, Bill has gotten this team light years better, and in much better shape overall, the man really is a rebuilding guru

Dallas swept the Eagles last year so I'm compelled to be a tad more compassionate, but just the fact it's the rabid EEEEagles... I still hope we sweep our division...

Furthermore, I just don't like NY... PERIOD... Something about Eli just irritates me... I guess it's just the lofty expectations and the twenty plus million signing bonus before he even threw a NFL pass... Spit on the Gnats.

The Skins as usual are paper champs, but the sheer fact that they won a playoff game last year gives them something to thump their chests about... I completely loathe Danny's stinking saddle blanket jamboree... I hope the Eagles tear the Skins a new one... depending on the standings however... but it still wont be hard for me to root for Eagles over Skins...

My crow would be a sauteed one with red bell pepper and onion garnish... along with tasty new potatoes topped with cheddar... Lots of BEER to wash down the attitude.

I think there will be at least 1 team eating crow this season.
Read one article in a preseason mag talking about the Giants...
VIEW FROM THE OTHER SIDELINE
(an opponent breaks down the Giants)
"I don't understand what they're doing. They signed about five defensive backs, but Sam Madison is at the end. Mcquarters and the other guys give them depth but no impact. Arrington is a wild card. If Gregg Williams couldn't get Arrington to do the things he needed to do in Washington, what makes Coughlin think he can? Is Arrington humbled? Probably. The leadership there is going to have to slap him around. Strahan is going to be the key. He's going to have to keep Arrington in line and get him to play the defense and be responsible. Manning made great progress from year one to year two and needs to make the same progress in year three. They need to trust him more to put the ball down the field because they have weapons. Tiki Barber is kind of like Curtis Martin and Priest Holmes. They get better with age."

Injuries will have key impact on crow-eating this season.
Barber goes down the Giants are sunk.
Bledsoe is the guy we cannot lose.
Brunnell is the guy in Washington along with about 5 other guys...there depth is paper thin(you gotta draft players to get depth)
Mcnabb is the guy in Philly

My picks for eating crow...
1.skins
2.giants
3.Cowboys
4.philly-they were terrible last year. Mcnabb will be healthy but he has the worst playmakers to work with in the division.

Given that everybody acknowledges the fact that the NFC East is up for grabs this season, NOBODY eats crow!! Sure, each fanbase likes their team's chances, but nobody is claiming to have a lock on the title and every team is flawed.

the only thing that would shock me is if the Iggles were to win a SuperBowl(which would be their first). If that happens, I'll indulge in some "smoked crow". I heard the key to smoking crow is to light the tail end and toke from the other end (not the other way around).

Naw, and for one rather simple reason-- I almost never make predictions as to the outcome of a game, or a season record...

I'm the kind who'll say "I'm a little worried about our chances in this game", or "I feel pretty good about our chances in this matchup"... and I'm pretty careful to hedge my bets when I venture a guess about season records... for example, I think it's reasonable to project the Boys to win 10 games this year, and if they catch a break in the injury department, 12 wins would be doable... but if the injury bug bites often, they'll struggle to finish over .500...

I know, all that sounds pretty wussy, but I'll bet that if at season's end they've had good luck on the injury front, they'll get their 12 wins... so maybe I'd put it this way:

Barring injury, I look for them to win 10 games, but if they stay pretty healthy, I wouldn't be surprised to have them win 12... obviously, this means playoffs, but once they get there I'll just be hoping for one win... anything more will be gravy...

and what's your favorite crow dish?

A Philly cheesecrow, of course... :lmao2:

Uhhh, WHAT??

I know this has been addressed before, but just to remind you.... Glenn isn't exactly injury prone. How can you "guarantee" that anyone is going to miss time, especially someone who isn't injury prone?? In 10 seasons he's missed about 25 games due to injury... that's not too bad... 2.5 games per year.

Edit to add: I got this idea from another thread in the Opinion Zone, but Glenn is a lot less injury prone than Julius Jones, who has missed 11 games in 2 years. Still we give him the benefit of the doubt, and Glenn is "almost guaranteed" to miss time due to injury??
