Were there any reports of players showing up Monday? If so, how many?

I think the media realized how ridiculous it was to worry about such a thing and stopped "reporting" on it.

This.

That and they had something new to pick up on with the latest "disgruntled Cowboys receiver."

Why do you care on Saturday night? Are you looking for reasons why we'd lose the game?

No, was wondering how many showed up as there seems to be a bigger committment by the players this year. If many showed up, it would just be telling.

Thanks for responding on a Saturday night.

I read somewhere that a large number of players showed up on Monday. I think it was Brooking who was quoted as saying so, but I'm not positive it was him.

Nope - sadly, not one word about how Phillips was right to give the Cowboys Mondays off for winning, and how the media was wrong to insist it was more of camp-cupcake.

Last "Victory Monday" Not As Advertised
Posted by jellis at 11/2/2009 5:30 PM CST on truebluefanclub.com

Maybe the idea of a "Victory Monday" isn't so bothersome after the Cowboys followed up their last one with the rousing win over Seattle.

If it works, it works, and the Cowboys figured they would go through the same routine they had after the big win over Atlanta, as the focus now shifts to Sunday's game at Philadelphia.

Wade Phillips said last week there was a kind of unwritten rule that players come in on their own and get a workout in, even if the team wasn't required to meet and watch the film of the previous day's game together.

Actually, Phillips said it was almost tougher on the players since they didn't get the chance to watch all their positive plays and cheer for one another. The coach said they would only be able to watch all the bad things they did in order to make corrections.

Well, not exactly.

"We didn't watch any Atlanta film," DeMarcus Ware said Saturday night at the DallasCowboys.com Radio Road Show.

"We went straight to the Seattle game and started getting ready for them, because we wanted to put that game behind us. We already know what we can do, now it's make sure you get an extra day for Seattle and do the same thing."

Again, it's tough to blame the Cowboys since their plan obviously worked. But as we get ready for the weekend trip to Philadelphia, it's hard not to think of the way things got too loose last season.

We'll see if "Victory Monday" becomes a weekly tradition. If the Cowboys keep playing like they have the last two weeks there won't be many complaints.

Victory Monday Returns Again

This game had a lot of similarities to last week’s win over Atlanta – both during the game and afterwards.

Once again, head coach Wade Phillips gave the players something to cheer about in the locker room, giving them the day off on Monday – sorta. While it seemed to get way overblown last week, the players don’t have to spend the entire day up at the Ranch, although they are required to come up there and get treatment and early meetings

So it’s not exactly a day off, but it’s just not an all-day thing.

Once again, Wade Phillips is going to do what he does, and run the team his way. There’s nothing wrong with that if you ask me.

Don’t look now, but the Cowboys have become a pretty good team after the bye, especially under Wade. The Cowboys were 5-0 after the bye in 2007, 3-0 last year season and have already won two straight games this year, immediately following the bye.

NP. Those were the only things I saw where there was something in-depth written. The rest were basic reports that the players were given another Mon day.

Like someone else said, I think the reporters realized how much they'd overreacted last week.
