Have they signed Clabo or Winston yet?

Livings is fine short-term as the forth-fifth best starting OL. When a player of his caliber is your second best starter, you have a problem, as it was in 2012. I think Tyron and Travis are going to be lightyears ahead of him next year for sure.

If Livings isn't a starter in 2013, he simply won't be on the roster.

But Frederick is the best C is the draft. I've always thought C was your second most important position on the OL. You want a smart guy who can run the OL and won't make mistakes. I don't think anyone but Frederick should be playing C.

Oh, I agree 100% about the importance of the center position and expect Frdericks to be the starting center at some point, just wondering how the team goes about getting their best 5 players on the field. Guard is still a problem unless Leary steps up.

I think the money we've promised these guards, makes it very difficult for us to simply part ways with them.

They're costing us 2 million and 1.8 million respectively.

It'll be easier money wise to part ways with Livings.

3.685 million in dead money to cut Livings. So I guess you could spread that so it only costs us 1.84 million. The problem is that only saves us about 160k dollars.

Bernadeau on the other hand 3.972 million to cut. 1.986 million this year after june. Which essentially saves us nothing.

Those were some really terrible signings.

My recommendation would be to clean our hands of that now, and get some help for this offensive line.

I know I'll feel a lot better if and when they sign one of them.

Won't happen. You watch - Parnell or Free will be starting Sept 8. The other will get significant minutes in rotation.

I've said since the season ended that they like Free (God only knows why) and that starting with OTAs and all through training camp we will get the spin from Valley Ranch that Free's only problem in 2011 and 2012 was technique. All during OTAs and TC you will hear about how well he is improving technique-wise and come opening day he will be either the starter or relieve Parnell in a rotation. The only consolation (IMHO) will be they will ask him to take a pay cut, and if he refuses then they might cut him.

Hope to goodness I am wrong but I will believe it when I see he is no longer here.

Totally agree, especially about Livings. It would be worth it to cut him and save 160k this year because the player doesn't bring us any versatility on gameday. He's a guard and that's it. A pretty below-average guard actually!

This. They will hype up Free- maybe say that he lost 20 pounds and is moving around better or something- and alot of people will buy it. Then game 1 we will learn that 2013 Free is the same as 2012 Free.
