I don't think Thomas is getting as much as you think. Teams are starting to smarten up to idea that is more about systems. The Eagles will probably be one of top passing attacks in league by end of seasons....quick who is their #1 WR? Thats right...they don't have one.

I think Thomas will come in around $11-12m per year. Thomas is still relatively young like Dez.

Jordy Nelson signed a 4y/$39m extension this past offseason for $9.75m per season, however, Nelson is 29.

I'd love it if the Cowboys could sign Dez for $9.75m, but I don't see it happening.

I think Philly is terribly overrated. They are 23rd in the league in passing yards per attempt. They just pass it more than most teams.

Nick Foles has a 4.2 percent touchdown rate. That's good for 21st in the NFL.

The Eagles have won games this year for two reasons.

1) They've played poor teams
2) Their defense has stepped up

I thought free was an URFA? His reworked contract that he agreed to cut the number of years from what i thought i remembered. He won't be dead money if that is the case.

Signing bonus was prorated into his option years.

I agree with the Brain but while we are here on this topic I will commend jerry for taking care of the class of 2016 already except maybe Crawford we got everybody we need signed up for more football. 2015s class on the other hand will be quite the news when the axe comes down and we don't resign them all. Overall our cap is looking good and the most important new rule is that the cap space can now be carried over from year to year with no penalty. Dallas doesn't need to use it all...we can push it forward. Smart.

I'm not sure what you're talking about, but i will say that the 2012 draft class has been somewhat of a disaster.

Why does it upset some if we choose to talk about next year? Folks live in the past, present and future - different styles you know. I have always been a future guy. It's what I like. But don't think for a second that I am not enjoying this marvelous Cowboys present too.

and it should not upset you or I that people are upset. Everything is ok ...I think

I really hope your right about them being overrated. But chip kelly offense are based on running more plays that other team...not yards per play. Its been working for him for 2 years so until proven otherwise I will consider it an effective approach.

If we wait, I have a feeling we'll pay for it. It's a shame we won't be able to negotiate until the end of the season. I still believe signing Dez is the key to all of our other free agency moves, especially when it comes to re-signing Murray.

It's good to hear that Denver has tabled talks with both Thomases. That may buy us time. I've been thinking a while that Denver is a year ahead of us in everything. I don't want them setting the bar here.

Jerry's gong to pay market whatever other WR's are paid.OTHER [wr] will certainly bare on the price but get ready for the big transfer of wealth.

I think they're going to run into a lot of trouble with the Cowboys this year. We were the better team last year, and it was clear. This year running the style of offense we're running, it'll make things really difficult for the Eagles. They can run a high tempo offense, but when they fail to score, they'll get behind pretty early, and then they'll become even more one dimensional.

By the time we play the Eagles are defense should be firing on all cylinders too.

You're forgetting that that dead money includes releasing Ware and Hatcher in the first place.

It's not that we couldn't afford these players, and this is a popular misconception. It's that we couldn't mortgage this team's future hoping to get a full return on investment on aging players.

The dead money drops significantly next year to about 8 million, though will probably rise with the release of Carr and Free, that being said if both are June 1st cuts, the dead money will be significantly less for 2015.

Free's last season is voided.

They should have at least 3 losses already.

to me it comes down to guaranteed money. Everyone should be concerned if Dez and his agent think he is Calvin Johnson (who got $60 million guaranteed). Jordy Nelson on other hand, contract only guarantees $11.5 million. Dez obviously falls somewhere in between but thats huge gap.

You mean Jeremy Maclin the guy they drafted in the first round?

And by top passing attacks? You mean middle of the road?

Kids these days will say anything.

Interesting point. I bet the lack of a stud #1 WR will affect them down the road though, and will help make them come up short once again on a ring.

Dez has won us games this season. I think we have to open up the checkbook and pay him the going rate. It's a lot of dough, but he does impact the game that much.

Biggest difference between Dez and Thomas, Thomas can flat out run, but not real big in the Red Zone, Dez not as fast but huge threat in the red zone.

I don't think Bronco's can even afford to give DT big money can they? They have all that money tied into Peyton, Ware, Von Miller, TJ Ward.....they have to resign JT as well. I think it might be best to WAIT in this regard.
