Have we been lucky thus far regarding injuries?

WTH!! Why post this??? Seriously? Are you trying to ruin the JuJu??? Sometimes something's that get said in your head should just stay there. Ask yourself next time WWCZD? Now if we get an injury you should be banned for a month as it will be all your fault. This team seems to be doing a lot better when it comes to soft tissue injuries. But we will have to wait and see

I think the defense has lost some guys that would really help right now but its not killing us because of our possession offense. Losing Murray or Bryant for extended time would really kill us obviously.

We havent been lucky, but we have been able to replace some big injurys. Rolando for Lee, Moore for Claiborne, Parnell for Free, Hitchens has filled in admirably etc.
After the last couple of years, we deserve a littel bit of a break. Its been said; "Injurys are not an excuse" But they sure are a harsh reality.

I feel like in years past, we'd have probably 4 or 5 key guys on IR at this point, or at least missing a large portion of season.

Yes, I know about Sean Lee. I know about Claiborne. And Lawrence with the 8 week thing. And some less serious stuff like Free and Carter. Every single team is going to have multiple injuries by now. But there haven't been any devastating injuries. Or in other words, our best starters are staying relatively healthy.

Or is it perhaps that the dropoff between our injured players isn't too far to the backup?

Not really sure what my point is, but I just get the feeling that while we don't have many superstars on this team, we have 53 solid players who can all contribute in some capacity if the person in front of them went down.

The only exception to this right now is probably Romo. I still don't trust Weeden to be the next guy up if he were needed, god forbid

But anyway, what do you guys think? Have all the dumb hammy and groin problems passed us by? Or do we fall in line with the rest of the league's injury average?

We won't be now.

I would prefer to say we are not being unlucky. Dallas is taking on injuries like others but not being overwhelmed with injuries as we have been. Maybe being the 2nd youngest team in the NFL is playing a part

If it where not for all the injuries we have sustained we would be playing a lot better, but it has to turn around.

Just trying to get the karma turned around.

That's a big reason why our record is what it is. We've been relatively healthy and it would be tough to find anyone who has had less injuries than us. Very fortunate this year so far.

We are due for a light injury year with all the injuries we've had over the prior few.

I think a bit part of the reversal of fortune is the Cowboys commitment to getting younger.

I believe that the reason for fewer injuries is that we have players just playing on instinct now. They are not thinking too much, etc. Just making plays, and playing hard.

Agreed.

In addition, most of the injury-prone/aging players are no longer on the team, or have already found their way to IR.

I think "injury prone" is a misnomer. It's a full contact sport. Obviously if you have bad knees and you repeatedly sprain the same knee, then that is injury prone. Most of the guys who have gotten hurt have injuries that are wholly unrelated to previous injuries.
