I was just thinking this very thing, but knew better than to bring it up here because I knew all of the superstitious nonsense would crop up. We have suffered injuries to Lee, Free, Carter, Claiborne, Lawrence and started the season with key health issues to guys like Spencer, Melton, Crawford, etc. The difference this year is that we haven't had a lot of key guys going to IR. Our depth is much better than year's past so we have been able to weather the storm much better than prior years.
Rolondo McClain has given us a level of play pretty much on par with what we would have expected from Lee, and Moore has arguably outplayed what we would have hoped to get out of Claiborne. Without Ro or Moore, we would be looking at the injury bug as a lot bigger bug with a lot worse of a bite. We didn't drop off in efficiency when Parnell replaced Free. One might argue that the Lawrence injury is holding back the defense more than the other injuries, because of the lack of pass rush at DE. Spencer's return is helping to lessen the loss of Lawrence, but the lack of an outside pass rush is problematic, for sure
