Weems was the left tackle backup last year. I wonder if we kept five total tackles because Weems is still injured?

Since Parnell isn't injured, though, I guess that doesn't make sense. Maybe Dallas just likes Wetzel more than appears the Cowboys should.

Keeping Wetzel was the biggest surprise for me. Keeping Weems didn't even with the injury but you have to think they only keep 7 linemen active on Game day so Weems won't be active. Wetzel definitely won't and he seemed like a guy that would make waivers to be on the practice squad.

So why keep him on the 53? It seems like they definitely want one of Parnell, Weems or Wetzel at RT next year.

Your wrong. You don' go from starter to cut because of the addition of one guy (Brent) who hasn't played since 2012 and very likely is in suboptimal shape. Never mind that Brent wasn't anything special back when he was playing.

I think calling Hayden a JAG is a disservice to JAGs everywhere, however, he is the best the Cowboys have at this point.

just for conversation, I wouldn't think Hayden is the best we got via eye ball test, I'd have Bishop ahead of him already.
getting Brent in shape and serviceable is a real question I know, then theres McClain
