I'll beat the dead horse but I was happy with 12-4 and the playoff win. However I'm nervous on JG. Class guy. Good guy. But after living in Houston during the Kubiak era I see a ton of similarities. a) Both great guys that players love and "play hard" for according to the media. b) both HORRIBLE their first few years at playcalling/game management leading to unexplained losses and .500 seasons. c) Fresh Coordinators coming in to boost the team...Marinelli & Linehan for JG and Wade for Kubes d) Because of (c) the team turns a corner and becomes a media darling and playoff team e) First playoff appearance gets 1 win and 1 loss. .............the ending for Kubiak came after Wade's system wore off and people saw that Kubiak was still a bad HC when it came to game management...stubborn to a fault. So is that what we have here? Coordinators making us better and then in 2 years when Romo is in twilight a full meltdown. I hope not. So with all that said I give JG a 3 year deal and if we go past the threshold of being consistently good, you can extend him.

The only place where Jason Garrett is not thought of highly is on this forum. I laugh out loud reading some of you acting like he has no where he could go. That is delusional.

The Eagles and Giants Fans think very highly of Garrett. They especially loved him for his Offensive Play Calling and In Game Adjustments during the 8-8 Seasons. Besides being the Next "Tom Laundry" , Garret would also be the Top Candidate in the NFL for any open Offensive Coordinator Jobs if Jerry does not resign him. If this is the case then I have a bridge to sell all of you in New York City.

If anybody - mediots included - want to make a wager on Garrett not coming back, I'm more than willing to take any action.

Just blow this whole team up.

We ain't going anywhere with Williams and our number 2. Or Bums like MO coming back.

Then to top it off, we can't even generate pressure to save our life.

Gotta extend him. You don't rebuild after 12-4

Listening to NFL radio they are reporting Garrett is saying he doesn't want to leave Cowboys.

Sure may be negotiating, but to me I think he really wants to lead this team and sees the potential.

If JJ is not working on keeping the ENTIRE staff as we speak, as much praise as was given to this group of coaches, he is not a smart a business man as I think.

Personally don't see anyone running to get in the Garrett line for a HC position. He did a great job this year with the help of his assistants who may be getting in someone else's line. We've all known pretty much that Jones will likely rehire Garrett since around mid season. And yesterday's loss was not a blow out, so could be rationalized as a moral victory by Jethro-----we know he keeps track of those. Technically, Garrett is a FA, but realistically...he is tied to Jones like a runner in a 3 legged race at the County Fair.

Is he a free agent right now or when the league year ends?

If it's immediate, and this applies to all of our other coaches no longer under contract, this would seem to mean there is no end-of-year player meetings. Or at least the meetings are being held with non-coaches, which would be horrible. This is pretty essential for scoping out development plans for younger players.

Garrett has some leverage. I don't see him going anywhere but you never know.

So. you are staying?

Garrett wouldn't leave this organization, because he's got the biggest leash he's ever going to get. His father is also in Jerry's inner circle, which is why he is here in the first place.

This year proved that Dallas can win with the right coordinators in place. I'm totally fine with it, if Dallas can continue in this mold with play-calling out of his hands. I'm worried about the Callahan loss on the line. Linehan will stay, unless he gets a HC offer. Marinelli, doesn't bother me as much.

If we sign Garrett and have no coordinators in place like this year, we'll actually be even worse, though I think after this year with Linehan, Romo will be even more involved in the offense than this year.
