I know what you mean. I remember realizing moments after the 52-17 that this team was going to be great for a few years more, and then I began to imagine a time when all those guys retired. Well, here we are.

yep those were the days, now if only if good ole wade gets into his thick head that you cant treat players like professionals, you have to work them and work them hard, as well work yourself and your coaches

I big part of me feels we may never see this again......

you never know, sometimes things happen;

i think this, if wade phillips can get into his thick hard head that you cant treat these players like professionals. You have to work them and keep your foot on their neck. You be the head coach not the players. Just like in week 15 game, the cowboys in 93 beat the vikings, but played a sloopy game. Just like some games that wade's team played last year. Jimmy Johnson got onto the players, even some of the stars, did those players like it, no. But they got the point and jimmy johnson worked them. He didnt let them have the week off, etc like a head coach did last year.

Even Tom Landry whom treated players like professionals, but when they played sloppy games, he worked them, went back to basics and worked them hard. Even some players went to randy white their spokesman and told randy to tell landry he was working them too hard. White told them that, landy said is that all? So, what did landry do, he said, well, i must not be getting through to them, that they have to work, and they think im too hard on them, well. I will work them alittle harder. And landry did.

Just like Novachek said once, that Jimmy Johnson probably worked the players too hard and beat them up, if he hadnt they probably would have won more championships. YOU have to realize no one in their right mind wants to work hard, and they will try to slide by if you let them.

Just look at the teams that won in the playoffs or got there last year. Eagles, Ravens, Steelers, and Cardinals. Even the cardinals coach, after the hummilating loss in new england game, when he got back on the airplane, he was seething. When the players got back on the field, he worked them. And worked them hard, he didnt let them be professionals and not work.

Thats what is needed on this team.

just like on a plane ride back in early 90s, jimmy johnson is seething after a Commander loss, he chews on the players, and later tells them, i hate losing and so should you. Before johnson got onto them, some of the players were laughing and cutting up on the plane.

And it was said, on the plane ride back from phily last year, by a medi reporter, that hardly told on players, the writer said a bunch of players were hooping it up on the plane back from phily, laughing and having a good time.

Where was wade phillips in all of this, why wasnt he ticked off at the players, the coaches, he should have ripped into the players, etc, and said changes were coming.

You cant treat these playes with kid gloves, and tell them, now your professionals, act and play like it, you have to work them.

And old expression from a world war 2 general, he said, the players may hate me, but they respect me and they will be ready to win. Either the head coach has to have the players fear of him or the players have to respect the head coach. I dont think that is going on with wade with the players and some of the other coaches.

Free agency hurt those teams more than working too hard.
