Is it me or does our favorite team suffer more hearbreaking, drama filled losses than any other team. My brother (a Niner fan) even said to me after the Seattle game that he has never seen a team lose in such ridiculous fashion.

I told him that in some ways that is the best part of being a Cowboys fan: high drama, big stakes, great success and great heartbreak. In our franchise's history we've had several miracle comeback victories as well.

In the 90's we were lucky to have a completely dominant football team that really didn't know how good they were, until they won it all... then unleashed a furious assault on the record books and if not for the NFL refashioning their free-agency rules and adding the salary cap, would have won several more world championships.

I'd just like zoners to recall their greatest thrill victory ... playoffs or otherwise where the Cowboys were the beneficiary of some miracles...

I think my favorite is the Cowboys rally to beat the Skins on MNF with Cosell ranting about Alvin "little monkey" Garrett. I think it was Tony Hill that caught the winning TD. 85?

Another is the Eagle botched snap game on MNF on their game winning fg attempt.

Anyone wanna recall some for me? Let's get through this tough time by remembering how many times the Cowboys have pulled it out.

That 1983 comeback against the Commanders was great. The classics would include the 1979 finale with the Commanders and the 1999 opener against the Commanders. One of the more recent ones would be the 2004 game versus the Commanders.

I guess I'm of the view that I would rather be in the big games and face heart break than not being in the game at all. No doubt Dallas has played in some of the greatest games played in the NFL, some we have won and others we have lost in heart breaking fashion but being part of some of the greatest games is something I do take pride in.

It would be interesting to have survey of where some of these major collapses in the last 4 years rank all time in Cowboys history.

Pittsburgh in 04
1st Skins Game in 05
2nd Skins Game in 06
Seattle Game in 06 Playoffs

I am glad you brought up that 04 Steeler game.

That really was the one I thought of after the Seattle game.

We had the chance to win it and a normally good pass blocking player (Ritchie Anderson) gets pushed back into Vinny and the rest is history.
